After falling off the face of LJ to indulge in many shiny new fandoms, I come back with another fanvid.

Why yes, this is an unashamed pimping of my crazy theory that Mulder/Scully = Vecchio/Fraser. It works, really!

Hey nice to see you again. And what excellent itming you have because I've been thinking about the old Mulder/Scully = Vecchio/Fraser theory too. I think you've got some got some very good points in that vid.

I also think people miss the similarities Mulder and Scully have and Benny and Ray have.

Considering the lyrics you did well to match it to the different aituations (I did like the alien goo over Ray pouring the 'coffee' away). It made sense.

That bit int eh middle - such a married couple's argument.

And Ray does have a nice smile.

I enjoyed it.

I get internally fandom distracted ;-)

It's easy to miss the parallels because for one, Mulder and Scully is a male-female pair, whereas with Ray/Benny, it's two males vying for control.

Yeah although I'm of the school of thinking if you put either Benny or Ray in a dress their whole relationship would be even more obvious and the parallels would be too I'm sure.

But what really drew me to the MS-RB similarity is that Scully has always been, at the character design, to serve as a foil for Mulder. She's supposed to be his compliment and vice versa, and that character design is at the heart of the Ray and Benny relationship. Their differences is what makes them compatible.Yes I agree. They have enough similarities so they don't clash on every level but they still retain enough differences to balance each other out. And the differences they have aren't incompatible but are actually compatible. Like two pieces of a jigsaw to use an oft mentioned metaphor ( ... )
