First translation! I wanted to practise so I've used the diary entries as a translation exercise since they're much easier.

Great job! *claps* It sounds great. (A lot better than what I'm doing :P) Sometimes you have to make adjustments to fit English. You don't want to lose its origin essence but English has so many rules to follow in order for it to be coherent that things have to be rephrased.

Thanks! It's like a puzzle, and everything sounds so weird if you do a literal translation. I was basically sitting there thinking of ways to put it together in English. I wouldn't want to imagine how long an interview would take me >__<

How are your translations coming along? These sure are good practise.

Cheers~

When I first started on Aoi's interview (about two months ago for practice), I did everything TOO literal and since I taught myself with a dictionary, I went with the flow. It was mind numbing! It's tricky because you sit pondering and depending on how you phrase it, the meaning is different too.

I finished Kai's wedding one but another translator mentioned that the reason she gave up on it was because it was uber difficult grammatically...... she wasn't lying! So I'm so ashamed of it when I look back. I'll post it eventually whenever I can sort through the mess in my notebook. I copy every character onto a notebook (which helps reinforce kanji writing that I learned) but it's a such a mess from the crossouts. I finished the Ruki scarecrow interview and I finished 3/5 members keyword interview for the Cassis special from 2005. I think I'll be posting them up soon whenever I get free time. I practice on the small doodle comments on the back of the Arena magazines.

Ciao!

Thank you! Trying to make sense of everything really gave ne abit of a hard time. Yet, it feels so good knowing you can do it in the end. Also, your translation poped up just in time for me to compare. I guess I wasn't too far off. *Phew~*

By the way, how long did it take you to be able to grasp the meaning without much difficulty? This entry sure took me some time to do >__<

Cheers~
