I find it impossible to read a book and not crease the spine in at least once spot, but it generally ends up being no more than a few. certainly not so bad that you can't read the title ( ... )

My books get a little banged up, like you said it's near impossible not to crease them a little. I expect basic ware and tear but this is almost like she's bending the book in half. I actually think I'm going to take a picture of book #2 (which I've read once) side by side with the book she returned so you guys can see.

Ok the book I'm reading right now, has about 3 spine cracks, but none so bad that the ink has come off the binding. The book she returned to me had about 12-15 cracks and all of them were more than just "bends" the ink is gone and showing white. Not to mention the front cover is kind of warped.

The book was Lara Adrien. I've heard of Rachel Morgan but haven't read anything. I'll look into Jaz Parks.

I'm just finishing Jaye Wells "Red-Headed Stepchild" which is really good.
