So I just saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall which was amazing because it had Kristen Bell (!!!) and Russell Brand (!!!) and Maria Thayer (!!) and other awesome people in it.
- Okay whoa there was Jason Segal's penis. More than once.
- Carla Gallo was in it! I'm not surprised, since she's in all of Judd Apatow's stuff, but I'm still glad. (She was period-girl in Superbad, Toe-sucking girl in 40-year-old virgin, and Lizzie in Undeclared, who was Jason Segal's character's girlfriend for a while.)
- I love Kristen Bell!
- I guess Judd Apatow likes actors to improv a lot of the dialogue, and you could definitely tell with Russell Brand because Aldous Snow's sense of humor was a lot like Russell's own.
- Okay, the thing I REALLY liked about this movie is that it had some of the most realistic characters I've ever seen. I mean, there were definitely some cheesy parts (like when Aldous sang), but since it's a comedy there has to be. But you're lead to think that Sarah is just a cheating bitch right off the bat, and then they slowly reveal the human side of her. In many movies with a similar kinda cheesy scenario such as this one, the girl is like "oh my ex is here psht whatever. But you could tell she was affected! And then you see that she did love Peter but they had problems and she didn't quite take the noble way out but not everyone does. You can tell she's unsure later on in the film and that she really did realize she made a mistake. But you also see that they're not quite right for each other, even if they did want each other back (to an extent). And I loved how they talked. It was awkward but very much like two people who had been together for five years - they didn't act like what they had never existed. In the scene after she finds out her show has been canceled it's clear they still care for each other and for how their lives are going. And even Aldous is great - he's the "jerk new boyfriend" character but he's not really a jerk - he was actually a pretty nice guy. Maybe sometimes he was a jerk, like in the one instance with Jonah Hill, but he was really nice to the kid at first but just got a bit tired of it. He wasn't someone who was good in relationships, but you couldn't help liking him and there are plenty of people just like that. There are more but this is getting long and those are the most important examples.
- I can't stand Jason Segal's upper lip. I don't know why and it's really weird. He makes this face and his lips do this thing that I just can't stand. I also don't think he's at all attractive so while I liked his character it was a bit hard to watch the girls liking him because I was like "ehhhh ew?"
- Aww Maria Thayer.
OH yeah. When is Fanboys finally coming out huh?
