It's that time of year again!

Dear Yuletide Writer:

I (likely) don't know you, but I am fairly certain that you are awesome.

First of all, thank you so much for writing a story for me. More than anything, I want you to have fun with it, and write something that you're going to love -- because I can pretty much guarantee that I shall love whatever you come up with.

In general, I'm a big fan of love, hate, comedy, drama, irrelevance, solemnity, flippancy, and poignancy. What I love most of all, however, is stories that are really about characters, that dig into who they are (and how they got to be that person) and how they relate to the world around them. That's why my requests this year are pretty much a laundry list of characters I think are awesome in one way or another. I enjoy pretty much every pairing/type of pairing out there, but if you're going that route, I'd prefer something non-graphic.

What follows is just some rambling about the optional details which are COMPLETELY OPTIONAL:

Dead Like Me, Roxy: Really, the entire root of this one is that Roxy is awesome. She kicks a serious amount of ass. I'd love to see a story about her in any time frame: before she became a reaper, in the canon proper (note that I have not seen the movie that absolutely does not exist), in the immediate future, or in some far off future where she is still taking souls and kicking ass (or not, if you prefer).

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Riley Dawson: I don't care if it's not cool, I love Riley. I find her to be incredibly compelling, and I hate what happened to her. What I said in my form was 'Before, during, after, or in the new futures they keep creating,' and really, any of that would make me happy. Riley, before Jesse and John Connor or Judgment Day, in the confusing past she found herself in ("I don't want to talk about my messed up childhood" John told her, and really -- ouch), or a Riley from one of the futures they keep creating.

Power Play, Colleen Blessed: Probably my favourite character from my favourite TV show. I love Colleen, in all her complexities and competency and flaws, and really just want something focusing on her. I would love for her to get a moment of peace or joy; note that I do love Colleen/Brett, but given the characters and how the show ended, I totally understand if you don't want to go there.

Girl From Tomorrow, Jenny Kelly: I just recently rediscovered this show from my childhood, and I found myself thinking about it again. How does Jenny deal with trying to lead a normal life in a ludicrously normal world, after she's seen the future and survived being shot and moved rockets through space with her mind? Given everything that she's seen is in store for the world, how does that change her? I'd love to see her trying to figure it out -- she knows she has to do something with her life, something big (though she feels so small) -- but what is it? How does she find her place?

Again, I note that my optional details are totally optional, and really just for if you would like more guidance! Thank you ever so much for indulging me and writing a story for me.
