The invisible hand of economics will sort it all out anyway. Peopla panic to much about it.

Once oil prices get to a certain high, there will be enough incentive for companies to produce alternate sources of energy for cars and other things. At the moment, even at it's record-high prices, oil is still the most economically effective source of energy. It'll all work itself out before a catastrophic meltdown of society that so many environmentalists keep saying will occur.
