Giving blood

I tried to give blood today but apparently my veins are too small to be a blood donor :( (strange I have such small veins when the rest of my family all have veins like tree branches!) Last time it was a problem too but after a lot of work they got about half a pint out of me and said that maybe next time my veins would be wider. Unfortunately

I have the same problem. The first time I tried to give blood I thought they had just put the needle in my arm wrong (it had slightly pierced the other side of the vein, so blood was running out into my arm the whole time - I had a lovely huge bruise for about 2 weeks afterwards, haha), but then the next time the needle just went straight through my vein and out the other side... that bruise was even better!
So be glad that that didn't happen to you! :)

I hope your bruising gets better! Apparently veins do get wider as you get older, so you might want to try going back in 5 years or so :)
