Pairing: Yunho/Jaejoong
Genre: Romance, Fluff
Rating: PG-13

Summary: Jaejoong and Yunho's personalities were worlds apart. One was shy and the other was absolutely charming. After Changmin's devious plan, Jaejoong and Yunho find that maybe opposites do attract.

Jaejoong thought that maybe dying of a nosebleed wasn’t that bad, especially if the cause of death was a certain sexy man named Jung Yunho. He sighed dreamily.

Kim Jaejoong had been absolutely captivated ever since Yunho stepped into his department. He avoided Yunho as much as he could, hoping he wouldn’t make any silly mistakes around him. Now that Jaejoong thought about it, he might have came off cold.

Suddenly a loud voice cut through his thoughts. “Jaejoong!”

Jaejoong shrunk back into his seat. It was Changmin. “Jaejoong come on get up. I have a new project for you.” Changmin was the department head and Jaejoong’s good friend. “I think you will like the partner I’m putting you with.”

Partner? Jaejoong thought. I thought I only have solo projects. Jaejoong followed Changmin into his office, his eyes visibly widened when he saw who was in the office.

Jung Yunho.

Jaejoong almost fainted.

Changmin smirked at Jaejoong. “Have a seat Jae.” Jaejoong sat down in a chair avoiding, any sort of contact with Yunho.

Changmin cleared his throat. “A big project has just been handed to us and the chairman expects us to do an excellent job on this.” Changmin paused, letting the information sink in. “And since both you are the top performers in this department, you guys will handle the project.

Jaejoong gaped at Changmin. Kim Jaejoong never, never, never ever in his entire life would work with a partner. Much less Jung Yunho.

Kim Jaejoong was the shyest guy in the department. He didn’t like meeting new people, for fear that he would give the wrong impression. Changmin never invited Jaejoong to their meetings because he knew that Jaejoong was too shy and unconfident to share any ideas even though he was the best in the department. He would speak to Jaejoong personally instead. Changmin knew that Jaejoong wouldn’t like working with a partner. Which was why he was shocked when Changmin put him with Yunho.

Changmin motioned for Yunho and Jaejoong to stand up. Yunho reached out to shake Jaejoong’s hand. “It will be a pleasure working with you.” Yunho smiled warmly at him.

Jaejoong nervously stuttered out a reply. “It w-w-will be n-n-nice working with you t-t-too.”

☂☂☂
In the first week, Jaejoong was all shy glances and meek smiles. He hardly spoke to his team and he just sat in a corner when they were discussing designs. His colleagues caught him - more than a few times, scribbling something onto what seemed to be a notebook.

Yunho, noticing that Jaejoong wasn’t very participative of their meetings, had more than once invited Jaejoong to have some coffee in his office but Jaejoong shyly denied, saying he didn’t like coffee. Yunho had caught Jaejoong sipping a caramel macchiato the next day. Yunho merely shook his head with confusion.

The second week was major hell for Yunho. He hadn’t decided on a design yet and the deadline was only a few days away. He had stayed up light, surviving on only coffee - trying to figure out what design would suit the product best. That whole week, Yunho spent everyday in his office. He practically lived there. At the end of the week, Yunho noticed that there was an accumulating pile of pillows and blankets in his office. He hadn’t brought any supplies from home to work. Yunho shook his head in confusion.

Jaejoong’s second week was a productive one. With Yunho effectively moping in his office, he had managed to get the technical team together to find printing companies and shop owners that were interested in helping with the advertisement. Jaejoong noticed that Yunho was stressing himself out too much. He had found Yunho sleeping in his office with his face in the files. Quietly, he placed a hand knitted blanket over him. Jaejoong decided that having a blanket wasn’t enough so he brought pillows too. If Yunho was going to mope, he might as well mope comfortably.

By the third week, Yunho had came out of his slump. He found out that Jaejoong organized the team, so that as soon as the design was ready the entire production of the advertisement would go into full speed. To his surprise he also found out that Jaejoong was the one giving him the comfortable pillows and blankets. Yunho had treated Jaejoong to coffee that day, thanking him for his hard work and of course the pillows. Yunho had amusedly watched Jaejoong drink his coffee, wondering if the latter had forgotten he didn’t like to drink coffee.

☂☂☂

Jaejoong stared at the billboard. Him and Yunho were currently staring at their billboard. Something was not right. He felt the ad was a bit too glamorous for it’s own good. He looked at Yunho, he couldn’t decipher the expression on his face. He cleared his throat. “Umm. Yunho-ssi?”

Yunho looked at Jaejoong, smiling. “I told you already. Just Yunho is fine. What is it?”

Jaejoong took a deep breath. “Don’t you think the advertisement is a bit flashy?” Jaejoong bit his lip, bracing himself for any criticism or scolding.

Yunho just chuckled. “I think so too. I didn’t know what I was thinking, drawing such a flamboyant ad.” Yunho stared at the scantily clad model holding a bottle of juice. He scratched his head sheepishly. “I guess showy advertisements aren’t going to cut it anymore. I’ll go back to the drawing board.” He sighed. “What do you suggest?”

Jaejoong furrowed his eyebrows and stared at the billboard intently. “I think a systematic approach would be good. Something that would not only catch the attention of consumers but also at the same time inform them of the product’s advantages.”

Yunho suddenly whipped around and faced Jaejoong. “Why don’t….” Yunho tapped his chin excessively. “Why don’t you help me with the drawing?”

Jaejoong looked into Yunho’s passionate stare and blushed. “M-me?”

Yunho’s tone became excited. “Yeah! You seem to have great ideas. We can draw up a new design for this ad.”

Jaejoong blinked nervously and kept his head down, hoping that Yunho didn’t see his blush. “Okay.”

“Come on let’s go!” Yunho dragged Jaejoong to their usual café - they both had decided the place sold the best coffee and it was also there that they became something more than colleagues - Yunho picked up his briefcase along the way.

When both of them settled down and had ordered their coffee, Yunho took out a large sheet of drawing paper and some coloring materials.

He started sketching out the basic design. Jaejoong watched, fascinated by Yunho’s drawing skills. He slowly grabbed a red color pencil. Jaejoong tilted his head - he thought that maybe having a solid red color as the border for the advertisement would grab attention.

Yunho looked up and saw Jaejoong holding a color pencil and staring at the drawing paper. He smiled. “Say whatever you like and draw whatever you like.” Yunho pushed the paper over to Jaejoong.

Jaejoong shook his head. “I can’t draw.” He handed over the red pencil to Yunho. “I was thinking that a bright red would attract the public’s attention, especially men and teenagers.”

Yunho bit his lip and frowned. His frown soon turned into a smile. “You’re right…” Yunho started to shade in the advertisement’s border. “I’ve heard that studies have shown that the eyes are naturally directed to the color red.”

Jaejoong pointed to a place on the paper. “We could put a picture of the product here.”

Yunho’s eyes widened in excitement.

“The slogan can go here and… Oh! The statistics. Over here Yunho!”

“If the slogan is here, then the price could go there.”

“That’s pretty smart!”

“Oh but Jaejoong why don’t we move the model a bit to the right so we can make space for the name of the product.”

“That works too. I think more red is needed over here.”

“The slogan needs to have a black border.”

Jaejoong looked up and found Yunho looking at him excitedly. He tilted his head and smiled at him. Suddenly, Yunho picked up a pencil and started to furiously sketch something. Jaejoong frowned and wondered what was wrong with Yunho. Upon further inspection, Jaejoong could see a faint flush of red on Yunho’s cheeks.

☂☂☂

“Don’t you think Yunho would look great together with Jaejoong?” One of Yunho and Jaejoong’s female colleagues exclaimed excitedly.

Another female colleague giggled. “I totally ship them. I think I’m going to call them….” She tapped her long manicured nail on her chin. “I’m going to call them Yunjae.”

The other woman looked at her, puzzled. “Yun..jae?”

“Yeah! You know Yun as in Yunho and Jae as in Jae?” She giggled again.

“Why not Jaeho then or Joongho?”

The woman with the manicured nails sighed dramatically. “Well, when they do it Yunho will obviously top, so his name is first. I mean Jaejoong is the perfect uke. He’s much prettier than all of us don’t you-”

The woman was cut off by someone clearing his throat. Both women turned and saw Yunho looking at them. “Are you ladies done gossiping?”

The woman with the manicured nails flicked her hand. “Of course not!” She grabbed Yunho’s arm. “You should totally ask Jaejoong out. You guys look great together. Plus you guys have amazing work chemistry too!” She made a peace sign at Yunho.

The other woman sighed and bowed to Yunho. “Sorry for causing trouble.” She proceeded to maul the crazy woman to her work cubicle.

Yunho sighed. Gossip these days… Don’t people have anything better to talk about?”

☂☂☂

Jaejoong yawned as he strolled past Changmin’s office. Just as he was about to enter his office, one of his female colleague came up to him and dragged him to a corner. “Hyeyoung, what is it?”

Hyeyong giggled. “Do you have a boyfriend?”

Jaejoong frowned. “A boyfriend?” Jaejoong bit his lip. Wait a boyfriend? “A boyfriend?” Jaejoong said again, but louder.

Hyeyoung giggled again. “Of course Jae, a boyfriend! You don’t think you’re straight do you?” She faked a shocked look. “Anyways, if you don’t have a boyfriend you should totally get together with Yunho oppa.”

“I.. I’m just friends with Yunho.” Jaejoong gaped at her. Was his interest with Yunho really that obvious? Jaejoong bit his lip. It couldn’t have been that obvious, Jaejoong’s interest subsided for Yunho a little bit when they became friends. Was he still interested with Yunho

Hyeyoung squealed excitedly, stopping Jaejoong’s mad flurry of thoughts. “The whole department has been talking about the chemistry between you and Yunho. It’s also great that both of you are such gorgeous people.”

“Oh look at the time, I have a meeting with Changmin in a few minutes. Bye Jae!” She giggled once more as she waved goodbye and ran off to meet Changmin.

Jaejoong stood there like a deer in headlights, gaping at Hyeyoung.

☂☂☂

Jaejoong smiled as he downed another glass of alcohol. The giant project had been finished, he was extremely close with Yunho and Changmin decided that maybe just for once in his life to not be a sneaky bastard and treat the entire department to drinks. Jaejoong glanced at Changmin briefly. He sure was having a great time. He turned away when Changmin started hitting on some girl.

“Another glass please!” Jaejoong honestly didn’t like bar parties but he decided not to be a party pooper for the sake of the project everyone worked so hard on.

Jaejoong suddenly felt a slap on the back. He immediately flinched. He heard a chuckle. “Why are you so scared?”

Jaejoong breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Yunho. “Nothing, its just I’m not really used to socializing.”

Yunho called for a glass of alcohol. “If you don’t like socializing then let’s have some fun together. We are friends right?” Yunho paused waiting for Jaejoong to reply. When he didn’t reply Yunho grabbed Jaejoong’s hand in an attempt to pull him to the dance floor. “Come on lets dance!”

Jaejoong vehemently shook his head. “I can’t dance. And besides, burning a hole in Changmin’s wallet is quite fun too.”

Yunho frowned. “Don’t be silly. Come on! I’ll teach you.” The lights suddenly dimmed as if they were welcoming both of them into the dance floor.

Jaejoong pouted. “Okay okay, I’ll dance with you.” Jaejoong downed another glass, hoping that it will let him become more free-willed.

Yunho pulled Jaejoong closer to him as a slow song came on. He saw that Jaejoong’s head was down. “Jae, what’s wrong?”

“Don’t you think that it’s weird that two guys are dancing to a slow song?”

Yunho furrowed his eyebrows. “I really don’t think there’s anything wrong. If I want to dance with you then screw the world. And in all honesty there really is nothing wrong with being gay.” Yunho tilted Jaejoong’s head up. “Are you uncomfortable?”

Jaejoong shook his head. “It’s just that there are people looking at us.”

“They’re just jealous we’re so gorgeous.” Yunho chuckled. “We do make a pretty awesome looking couple don’t we?” He winked at Jaejoong.

Jaejoong’s face flushed a deep tomato red and all of the sudden, everywhere else but Yunho’s eyes seemed to be more interesting.

They danced a little more and drunk a little more, becoming closer than ever.

Yunho slumped into the one of the bar’s couches, he pulled Jaejoong down with him. “See wasn’t that fun?”

Jaejoong pouted and pushed Yunho away. Jaejoong was tipsy and tired. He wanted to go home.

Yunho smiled amusedly at Jaejoong’s cute drunkedness. He drew Jaejoong’s face towards his chest. He buried his face into Jaejoong’s neck. He smelled of peaches and crème. He inhaled deeply the heavenly scent that was Kim Jaejoong. Yunho had slowly started to fall for the shy man. Yunho didn’t know when or how but he just knew that he wanted the gorgeous man by his side.

Jaejoong started punching Yunho’s chest. “Yuuunnnnnn. Let me go home.” His pout went into full force.

Yunho gulped and stared at those cherry plump lips. He shook his head, he hadn’t formally asked Jaejoong out yet and he wanted to kiss him. He couldn’t, his plan to woo Jaejoong only allowed him to kiss him after the first date.

Jaejoong licked his lips.

Yunho’s resistance fell.

He leaned closer to Jaejoong. Their lips brush for a short second before Jaejoong’s head dropped and succumbed to unconsciousness.

☂☂☂

“Oh my gosh. Did you hear what happened last night?”

“They were all over each other!”

“You should have seen Yunho’s face in Jaejoong’s neck. It was the most absolutely cutest sight ever.”

Jaejoong buried his head into his arms on his desk to clear away the thoughts of what may had happened last night. Jaejoong couldn’t remember anything. All he remembered that Yunho and him danced a lot and drank a lot. The rest was all some hazy blur.

He felt someone standing behind him. It was Hyeyoung. Jaejoong braced himself. “Jaeeeeeeeeeee!”

“Oh my gosh. Are you limping yet? Do you need some soothing cream or anything?” Hyeyoung’s words came out of the speed of light and when she was done she blinked innocently at Jaejoong.

“Limping?” Jaejoong frowned. “Why would I be limping?”

Hyeyoung nodded. “Yunho took you home last night. And besides, you guys were all over each other at the bar last night. Yunho was basically on top of you. I honestly thought you were going to do it there and then.” Hyeyoung pouted. “I wish I brought my phone. I could have took pictures of both of you. Anyways…” Hyeyoung dragged out her words. “I gotta go, let me know if you need some healing cream!” She dashed away, leaving Jaejoong in the dust.

Jaejoong’s jaw dropped open. Did that really happen?

Changmin passed by and pushed Jaejoong’s open mouth closed. “Jae keep your mouth closed. Beware of the predatory muscle called Yunho’s tongue.

Jaejoong snapped out of his reverie and went to find Yunho. He needed to clear up this rumor. He couldn’t remember anything.

“Yunho!” Jaejoong called out when he saw Yunho walking to the coffee room.

Yunho looked at Jaejoong as if he was expecting something big to happen. “Yes?”

“Can we talk?”

“Sure?”

Yunho and Jaejoong sat opposite one another in the break room. “Did you hear about last night?” Jaejoong started the conversation.

“Last night?”

“Y’know… People have been saying we did…” Jaejoong played with his fingers. “…. We did kissed and stuff.”

“Do you think we kissed?”

“Did we?” Jaejoong shook his head. “I honestly can’t remember.”

Yunho bit his lip, hesitant to say something almost. “Nothing happened Jaejoong.” Yunho shrunk back into his seat. “No need to worry about anything.” Yunho gave Jaejoong a smile. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now.”

Jaejoong watched Yunho leave. He thought he had heard traces of disappointment and sadness in Yunho’s voice. Jaejoong banged his head on the table. He was overthinking. Must be the aftereffects of alcohol.

☂☂☂

Jaejoong giggled for about the millionth time in that hour. At least that was what Yunho thought. In reality Jaejoong probably only giggled about three times.

Choi Siwon was his name. Choi Siwon was a new addition to Yunho and Jaejoong’s department. He had arrived just last week. Ever since he came, Yunho noticed that he would stick to Jaejoong. Whether it be for lunch or assignments, Choi Siwon would always be seen with Kim Jaejoong. And Yunho was by far pissed.

Least to say, Yunho was jealous. He knew that Jaejoong really wasn’t interested in Siwon, he kept ignoring the guy. It was Siwon’s persistence and perfection that pissed him off the most. Yunho used to be the most coveted guy in the department but now with the newest addition, Jung Yunho was old news. And it seemed like Jaejoong thought so too. Ever since the bar incident, they haven’t been talking as much.

Yunho growled when Siwon suddenly pulled out flowers from nowhere. Yunho saw Jaejoong’s eyes widen inexplicably big and his head shaking forcefully. Siwon was asking Jaejoong out. Siwon whispered a few things into Jaejoong’s ear which made Yunho’s fist clench up so tightly, a walnut could break.

What happen next was what made Yunho totally lose it. Jaejoong accepted the flowers and Siwon was just about to kiss Jaejoong. Yunho’s fists clenched a little more and his heart pounded in his chest. He saw red.

Yunho rushed over to Jaejoong and just as Siwon’s lips were about to touch Jaejoong’s, Yunho pushed him away. He grabbed Jaejoong by the shoulders and smashed his lips onto the latter’s. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see Jaejoong’s expression. Jaejoong was his and no one could ever take him away.

When Yunho finally opened his eyes he saw that Jaejoong’s eyes had fluttered shut and his cheeks were dark red. He noticed that the whole department was now staring at them. Cheering was heard.

“I knew it! I knew you guys were a couple!” Hyeyoung bounced over to the shocked pair.

“About time…” Yunho turned his head and saw Changmin leaning on his doorframe coolly. Changmin winked at Yunho. “Come on guys! Get to work, you can see them make up after work!”

The crowd dispersed and Yunho and Jaejoong were left standing alone.

Jaejoong broke the silence. “Soo…”

Yunho ran a hand through his hair and sighed. “Look Jae, I really like you. And…”

Before Yunho could say anymore Jaejoong placed a finger on his lips. “I’ve been waiting for you to say that Yunho. I like you too. And I know you kissed me at the bar.” Jaejoong blushed. “I kinda had a déjà vu dream about it.” Jaejoong swished around. “Kiss me again?”

Yunho grinned.
