I recently been informed that most of fandom hates the GOT ladies who are not Arya, Dany and Brienne (idk who she is, I have not yet had access to GOT s2 across the Pond but I've heard good things). THIS SADDENS ME. I can sort of get hating Cersei's guts though I wouldn't go that far myself - I have no love for Lannisters but I don't like judging women trying to survive and thrive in oppressive, patriarchal societies by modern day standards.

BUT SANSA AND CATELYN ARE FUCKING AWESOME LADIES, K. I cheered when Sansa said maybe Robb would bring her Joffrey's head and when she went to shove him off the bridge and that exquisite contemptuous glare? Beautiful. And when Cat talked an entire pub into arresting Tyrion for her? EPIC. They are wonderful and haters can fuck off forever.

ugh you will LOVE Brienne tbh she's a female knight that Renly puts on his Kingsguard when he becomes claimant for the throne and she's got incredible physical strength but she's super idealistic and really adheres to the code of chivalry and is one of the few characters who is pretty much unquestionably Good and the actress that plays her is amazing ( ... )

Like Bradamante?! *Loves a good lady knight* Also, I'm kind of impressed at Renley. You go, Renley with your primitive, rudimentary gender equality and shit.

See, I like ladies with swords and fighters and I love the everliving out of Arya and Dany (favourite character, across House lines) but there's more than one way to be strong. Catelyn isn't a fighter to me but she is like tempered steel and Sansa has the same stuff in her, I've every faith in her. MY QUEEN IN THE NORTH, OK? Now and forever. So much love for them both. <3

If Game of Thrones was a modern-day non-fantasy verse with modern reality mores applied to the characters? Cersei would be a monster, no question (unless of course a society that allows her to pursue her own shit and succeed/fail on her own merits makes her a healthier, happier human being which it probably would, obvs) but so would more than half the male cast too and she always has a lot more to lose than them. I don't like her but I can spare some pity and understanding for her.

Brienne's relationship with Renly is kind of heartbreaking and lovely because he obviously likes her and has a lot of respect for her and she is madly in love with him and he's obviously in love with Loras so it's like "aw Brienne :(" But after he promotes Brienne to his Guard, Loras gets really jealous and lol I was cackling. She's fabulous, you will love her :)

AND YES I AGREE 100%. I love Dany so much. She's easily my favorite and my heart breaks for her and the fact that she's overcome so much is so amazing and I just adore the living hell out of her, but the people who prop her and Arya up and are like "LOOK AT THEM, THEY'RE SO STRONG AND CAT AND SANSA AND CERSEI ARE WEAK" are just so wrong because there are so many different types of strength and let's be real - the fact that Sansa is still alive after five books after being in a lion's den and having so much shit thrown at her is proof enough of her strength. She and Catelyn might not be physical fighters, but they're stronger than they let on.

I will be horribly disappointed if Michelle Fairley isn't at least nominated for an Emmy this year. She was so on point last night. :O

it's honestly a testament to how amazing she is that she manages to overcome the fact that the writers have no idea wtf to do with cat but she is still awesome. she just transcends the shitty material she's given and is so great every time and her face when she opened up the chest and saw ned's bones just broke my heart. :(

Dany is my favorite too and it makes me so mad when people hate her for the dumbest stuff! And ugh Sansa breaks my heart omg when she walked out of being stripped and beaten with her head held high, i could have cried. Renly is easily my favorite competitor for the Iron Throne/one of my favorite characters ever omg he's so lovely and was ON POINT this episode and imo Gethin Anthony is one of the best actors on the show. I was pretty "meh" on Marg in the books but I love her so far on the show and I like Tyrion, too. But yeah, Dany and Sansa are probably my favorites with Renly, Catelyn, Cersei and Loras coming in close.
