So, is anyone else watching "The Colony" from Discovery?  I watched all of last season in two days and the first one for this season just came out.  It IS reality but I like it.

The show is about a group of people that volunteer to spend 10 weeks in a created environment, meant to mirror a city that had been destroyed by a viral outbreak.

The participants don't know each other but have to form a "Colony" together and survive. They are given a very small amount of food and dropped off in a city. No electricty, no water, etc...All they have is the left over pretty much trash and scraps left over from the diaster.

Oh yeah, safety is a big issue as there are others in this place who are always trying to steal the little that these people do manage to aquire.

Other things? Like people or animals?

Sounds interesting. Similar to this Canadian show called "The Day The Women Left" (or something like that) where the women leave a small town and we see how the men do in their absence.

Yeah, like other colonists who are also trying to survive with the limited resources available. In this season there has been a creepy snake in their shelter, which consists of a building with lots of missing boards and a seriously leaky roof.

That first season was very addictive. Here is a link from the official site...http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/colony/ if you want to check it out. :)

I've never heard of that but I saw a similar show once on PBS where a family has to try and live like colonists in the 1700s. They failed miserably. The teen girl was trying to smuggle in make-up.

LOL, yeah. On this show they are more concerned with finding ways to purify the nasty river water that they have to drink, making electricity and finding food. LOL, that is too funny.
