Avian Appreciation

Yesterday I went round the lake, bag of slightly gone off bacon scraps in one pocket and camera in the other, in the hope of tempting the magpies and crows to stay standing in one place long enough - and close enough - to get some decent photos of them. WHITE DUCKY! That's the female one, rather than the male (gay) one on the canal.

The crows are pretty happy for you to take photos of them if you wait around long enough where someone else has put seeds out, usually by the bridge on the island that's furthest from Trent. They're really not keen on the flash though. I find plenty of patience and time is the best when taking pictures of anything. And a telephoto lens ;P

I was going to ask how you knew that white duck is gay, but on second thoughts I think I can guess!

I was thinking that your telephoto lens would be very handy! I make sure the flash is off when I photograpgh them cos I guessed they wouldn't like it. I'll just have to try again another time, preferably when it's not raining and not just before lunch :)

ooh- i like the magpie with the leaves, nice colour contrast :)
