Because I don't stick out enough already

I've been having a hankering for some unnatural hair color for some time now, and I think electric red is going to be the way to go - when it fades, it will fade back to the semi-natural copper that I like to keep my hair (when I'm remembering to touch up the henna), but it's bright and unnatural enough to show up on top of my dishwater-light-brown ( Read more... )

Go for it! It's always great to be part of an industry where they don't have retardo hang-ups about U MUST LOOK "PROFESSIONAL." My mom mentioned once that she thought I should dress more professionally, and I sort of squinted and say "Ma, I work in the game industry. There, PANTS are professional."

SO YES! Dye that hair insanely red! It shall look fabuloso :)

Yes, red! And, I think I'd go ahead and bleach/dye some front bits so that they're even brighter. Why not, right? If you can manage to do the extra red bits so that they look like highlights throughout then that would be even cooler. (But I'm not sure how much help you'll have, and that process is much better off with an extra pair of hands.)

That sounds super fun! You could see if you can get your hands on some of the aveda lighteners. They stuff they put in my hair for highlights seems to be pretty gentle and although it adjusts my hair texture a bit, it is really minimal and the detrimental texture goes away quickly as the natural oils come back in a few days. You have such gorgeous long hair right now. Share a picture with us when you are done!

That dye simply works best if you bleach first, and then it's very bright :) I'd bleach and condition the heck out of it.
