We talked long and hard about getting a dog. And we searched on petfinder, and couldn't find any local puppies there, and so we went to Petco, thinking they could point us to a good shelter. We almost turned around and left; Petco doesn't have puppies for adoption (the Animal Rescue League adopts cats out of there) and Josh said "They won't be able to help us."
But we walk in anyway, and there are two women up front with three puppies. They said:
"We have puppies looking for a good home!"
To which I replied:
"We're a good home looking for a puppy!"
They were from Angel Ridge, which a no-kill shelter for abused and displaced animals. They handed Pavlov to me, and I was in love. We drove out to Angel Ridge and adopted him, and drove back to Petco to pick him up.
He is the cutest, smartest puppy EVAH. He's already learned his name, and his potty training is going most excellently.

Congratulations, though, chesh. He's very cute and I'm sure he'll bring you months of joy.
