I was just thinking cheap poster prints. [Heck, if posters got too expensive, I was even considering a further-scaled-back version of just applying rolls of wrapping paper to the long bare-white walls.]
I have some velvet colored posters. One is framed one is not. Or you can Borrow some of my SF art for the day. They are beautiful, but not funny.
How about building 19 5/8's It is right near my house.
As far as staying out of trouble. Talk to someone in HR before you do it. See what they say, just silly stuff should be ok, unless you have a fundi who gets upset at pictures of mythical beasts.
Building 19 is a cool idea, but I wouldn't want to borrow anything that anybody might want back.
A prank like this, I'd do anonymously -- April Fool's is a Sunday, so just have "artwork" hanging up in the halls when people arrive Monday morning. I want it to be disposable so if somebody does take offense, they can just rip them down without having to find anybody to take ownership.
I'm just thinking of cheap posters -- which I might "sign" as Lirpa Loof -- but I don't want to spend $12+ per poster for a gag.

We have one such *ahem* work of art at home, in a frame, even, that's been in basement storage forever. Yours. :)
