Rules for Eating Pizza

My sister came to visit this week and we headed off to Chuck E. Cheese’s to have pizza and let our kids play with the video and arcade games there. As we were sitting there eating the pizza, it reminded me of a time about ten years ago when my best friend and I went to the same place to eat one afternoon. In the very slim chance my friend might ( Read more... )

Once, long ago, my friend Brax and I made a huge pan of porridge oats. We were penniless students at the time so that was all we had, the pan, and the porridge, and two spoons. We also had a very bad case of the munchies. We sat together on the floor basking in its warm rays, and spooning it up, a little gingerly due its high temperature ( ... )

That's unfair JP. I need warning before you just destroy firmly held convictions like that.

Chessie, I eat pizza in order too, but I usually have a middling sized one to myself, with toppings I like, so it's more a matter of ease than anything else. Once you've battled to get one poorly cut slice from the whole, you may as well make life easy for yourself and work from the edge. Black olives are fabulous, by the way. :P

Ok, I can see the logic of eating a pizza in order if you're the only one eating it. Makes perfect sense, especially with a recalcitrant pizza.

My friend also once informed me that one should not start eating their buttered popcorn until the movie actually started. You couldn't eat it during the previews or the title screen. You had to wait until the movie was fully started. It was a rule of hers. After looking at her with a raised eyebrow, I took great delight in loudly munching my popcorn throughout all the previews AND during the opening credits while she sat there with hers in her lap. :)

Honestly, people do place so many limitations on themselves - doesn't hot buttered popcorn get cool if you just leave it sitting around? Of course. This whole waiting to eat popcorn thing is just wrong. So very wrong. The only thing you need to do is time your drink so you don't have to sneak out halfway and find a bathroom (Although I did have to sneak out of "Ned Kelly" halfway through, that was actually for a cigarette and a break from inconsistant accents).
