I am very impressed. Does this mean you have to feed them as well? And, what happens to all your finches in the winter?

I've been feeding them all along anyway, for years and years. Bird feeding is a big hobby in Michigan, especially when the colder weather hits and the birds have a hard time finding food. The house finches stay around all winter but some of the other birds like the robin leave. As we lose birds to the south, more species of birds migrate down from Canada and "over-winter" here in Michigan because it's warmer, lol. They're called Dark Eyed Juncos or the more common name, Snowbirds. That's why the people in Florida call the retirees who come down from the north for the winter months, snowbirds. Just a bit of Michigan trivia.
