Being a manager has its ups and downs.  I've had a few very successful conversations this week with peer managers that have resolved issues or at least gotten them into a better state.  I also had one of my staff volunteer for a task unexpectedly, and in an unexpected manner.  A pleasant surprised, and I'm going to have to think on it
