I am too cynical for Disney movies

Now I should state up front that I haven't grown up with the princess movies so to say, I'd only seen one or two Disney movies and one of them was Frank en Frey. That's right folks, I've never fully seen Alice in Wonderland, unless you mean the Tim Burton remake which I attended with the national Lolita community. Maybe that's why I never wanted to

I think what you are describing is truer of the early disney films.

Where as Belle in Beauty and the Beast refuses to conform and to marry somebody she dosen't want to. She also stands up to the man (beast) she loves. In the end she tries to protect him and is the one going after him.

Jasmine (Aladdin), Pocahontas and Mulan are also strong women.
