Like, I guess I should post more than just on holidays, huh?

Happy Birthday, America!

Like, finally, the one holiday I can actually stand (besides maybe Halloween). Christmas and stuff isn't bad, but like seriously, there's no "spirit of the season" around those holidays anymore. Everyone's too pissed off from waiting in lines for hours and like, having to drag their spoiled brats all over the place to find ( Read more... )

music, my dad kicks ass, oh boy ranting time, fast food kicks ass, car chat, mimi =/= feminine k

That sounds like a rocking concert, fraulein, and I'm sure it was a fitting tribute to the holiday. But I know from experience that the stoned metal heads put up more of a fight than teenybopper tweens-- and that they both get in trouble with the law when it elevates to battery.

Yeah, you bet!

Experience, huh? Like, you mean you've had some show up at your band's gigs?

A Happy Independence Day to you!

I've never heard of those bands, but that sounds like it must have been an enjoyable holiday concert. I do love festive holiday celebrations, and music.

When I was a boy, we used to celebrate Cohdopia Day in the summer, which was somewhat similar. I remember playing with sparklers, too.

I hope that you have a pleasant day and that they serve some kind of seasonal food for you. I wouldn't want you to be completely deprived of merriment, as it's an important national holiday.

Thanks a lot, Mr. P! You too! I hope you get to see some fireworks.

Yeah, me too! It's cool, Shadow of Metal's been on the DL since they split. And like, I can't remember Missing Page putting out a decent album since the year after that concert either. I was kind of distracted though, so maybe I'm wrong.

It's awesome Cohdopia has sparklers. It's a total bummer the way some parents here don't want their kids playing with them. It's one thing if their kids have like, no common sense, but really, that's the parents' fault.

I was able to see some fireworks, fortunately. The displays are so lavish here. They're quite beautiful! Were you able to catch a glimpse of any from the prison?

I see! I'm much more familiar with Cohdopian music, old standards, and musicals.

Oh yes, Cohdopian green sparklers are a tradition on festival days, especially in the summer! I would offer to send you some, but obviously that wouldn't be possible.

Yeah, Cali definitely goes all out for holidays. Like, I think it's because we've got so many people here. I thought I could see a few from far away, but like, it might have just been lightning. Too bad.

Again, too bad, but it's okay! Like, it's the thought that counts, and I'm happy to know people still play with them. It's important to have fun like that when you're a kid. Oh yeah, I hope everyone at the Embassy had fun this year!

I've heard they will be serving hamburgers. Whether they'll be good hamburgers--that's another matter.

Nngh, good point. I'd rather they, like, get burnt to a crisp and taste kind of funny than be super-undercooked and get everyone sick. Rosa from the ward doesn't deserve to be called in on her day off!

I didn't mean that I thought mass food poisoning was likely.
I only meant that they might not taste good. Though now that you mention it, food poisoning at prisons is not unheard of.

I think you've inspired me to go for the vegetarian option.

The fourth was always a great time at the circus.

It would be nice to have some fireworks today, but I guess it's obvious why we can't. Having hamburgers and hanging out in the yard should be fun, though.

Oh yeah? Like, what did you guys usually do? Ooh, I bet you had tons of fireworks, huh?

Yeah, it's a total bummer. I hope it cools down a bit tonight, then yeah, that'd be awesome!

Yeah, the circus is a great place to see fireworks. Not under the tent, though.
We usually had a picnic for everyone, after the show. We'd play games and some of the acts might perform for fun - mostly silly stuff or the kind of showing off we wouldn't normally do for an audience.

I think it's going to rain soon - maybe tonight or tomorrow. That should get us some relief.

That sounds like fun! It really makes things easier when you can have fun with the people you work with.

Like, I sure hope so! Hanging around my cell just because it's cooler there is sooooo boring.
