losing a president means leaving a vacuum, and therefore temporary chaos, in a government. Sure, the VP can step up immediately. But what if the VP is gone too? And all the ones that comes after him? Consider also that the chaotic time window is the best time for the enemies to strike, since the gov is already struggling with indecision without the head. That's why the president's life is v important ;)

In my opinion, if losing a President will turn the whole government upside down seems like the whole system of governance is dependent only on him alone or even the VP, i.e the system can never be "self run" without human beings making the decision. Of course we need people to be there to implement measures but the system should not crumble just because one man died

If a proper hierachy and abled man are formed up, the next in line will just take over when crisis strikes and implement backup plans.. at the end of the day, we are all born from the same human race. Everybody's life is just as important. I am sure there are capabled people around the President who can always take over his role, just that they must be at the right place at the right time to change their life circustance, and of course life value $$ ;)
