Survey + the personality disorder test... hmmm
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? He's actually kind of on the shorter side--around 5'9", maybe--and built very muscularly.
2. How old is he? In his early thirties.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? He carries himself confidently.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? He's super fit. No illnesses or conditions.
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Fluid, and can be graceful when he wants to be, but can also move through a room like a tank when he wants to.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? He's attractive, and he knows he is, but he doesn't really care what other people think.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Pretty clear and light.
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. He has a shaved head. His hair would be brown if he had it, though.
9. What color are his eyes? Hazel.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Lots and lots of scars.
11. What are his chief tension centers? Shoulders.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? He tends to go for jeans, sneakers, and a jacket or button up shirt. It's pretty comfy, but also manages to look classy. He doesn't go for bright colors--he prefers things in the range of blues, grays, and black.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? His clothes do fit well, but they're obviously not tailored. He is comfortable in them.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? The same either way for the most part, although sometimes on the job he wears a suit.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? I just spent ten minutes on Google Images looking for it. Thanks. I'm relatively certain they're boxers.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Deep, hoarse, he definitely sounds like a smoker.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? Fast, with a voice that tends towards loud because he gets angry quickly, and he does talk easily.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? He has a British accent. And he swears all the fucking time.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? Just English. And maybe like ten words of Spanish.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? N/A
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? I don't know if 'good' is how you'd phrase it, but he has no time saying whatever is on his mind.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Neither, really. He's quick to talk and say what he thinks, but since he swears so much and often says things like, "Yeah, well, fuck, I mean..." you can't really call him a beautiful speaker.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? He's street-smart. I think there's some evidence that he's an intelligent guy otherwise, but he certainly never lived up to his academic potential.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? He thinks on his feet. Deliberation kind of... doesn't happen.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? He's intuitive but practical.
4. What kind of education has the character had? I don't think he graduated from high school. His education has been mostly on the street.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? Fighting, killing people, evading the cops, having people be inexplicably attracted to him.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? He has mood swings, and he's very driven. His mood swings between angry and pretty calm.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? He's suspicious and on edge.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? To act. He's going to get the upper hand by acting first.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Fight. Do you even need to ask?
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Gallows humor, and mean-spirited humor.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? Oh, I'd bet he does, but canon doesn't say so.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? I would have to say all the times of nearly dying would have something to do with who he is as a person.
14. What does he fear? That's a good question. The only thing I can think of is his girlfriend being hurt.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations? To get out of the crime world and have a legit life.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? That he let someone live who he was supposed to kill.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. His father was never around and he never knew him. His mom gave in to him and his wants even though she worried about his violent and criminal tendencies.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? No known siblings.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? N/A
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? N/A
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Hmm. I'd say the closest thing he has to a best friend is Doc Miles and it's pretty unclear as to how they met.
6. Does he have other close friends? Kaylo, Venus, and his girlfriend Eve.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? I think he has a hard time getting along with people because he's so suspicious and also so willing to fight.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? Probably friends.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? He's in a relationship, but unmarried.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? Yes. His girlfriend Eve.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? I don't know. I'd guess his latest is his girlfriend.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? For awhile he lied about what he did for a living. Now he's just happy that Eve puts up with his job. It's important that someone can put up with him and deal with his mood swings.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? He doesn't have any, but maybe once he got out of the crime life he'd like some.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? Oh man. Ricky Verona, Johnny Vang... those are just the two big ones.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? Straight. Very straight.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? Apparently, he quite enjoys sex, and will have it wherever and whenever the mood strikes him.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? I can't speak to turn-ons and turn-offs, but if we count public sex as a weird bedroom habit, there you go.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? I have no idea of it.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? It doesn't appear that he is neither.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Sure, he must, but it wouldn't be the normal one. He doesn't have a moral problem with killing people, for example.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? He's actually pretty tolerant of other beliefs, as long as they're not hurting him. You couldn't say he was exactly curious, though.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? I think he has prejudices against certain mobsters, but those are definitely with good reason.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Based on the way his apartment looks, he's comfortable and can afford to buy some pretty nice things, but he's not rich. However, his job pays pretty well.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? He was pretty clearly working class when he was a child. Now he's maybe more middle class just based on his finances, but since he's part of the crime world, he's not really a part of the middle class in that sense.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? An apartment. He doesn't share it with others, and it's very nicely decorated and he has some cool electronics, like a really big TV.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? Guns. And he probably buys his girlfriend things, too.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? He is a contract killer. He's good at it, but he wants to get out of that life and do something else.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? That's a good question. He likes video games, and watching movies, but he doesn't have a lot of free time.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? He's pretty obviously used to drugs of most types, and it doesn't seem like he places a ton of importance on food. Just what's needed to get through the day.
