Oh yikes, chey! How could they misdiagnose that? I mean, I thought I had that once, and it turned out to be a drug reaction ... and my oncologist did not think I was nuts for thinking of it.

*huggles you very tenderly*

I'm glad things are on a better path now.

Hi Chomiji!!!

Nice to hear from you. :)

According to my ex-doctor, she thought it was mastitis and prescribed a course of antibiotics.

After 2 weeks, she said that the *infection* wasn't reacting to the antibiotics so she prescribed another course of stronger antibiotics. And said that it was most likely mastitis but could be cellulitis.

By mid-January, it still wasn't working and I asked for another mammogram.

Jan 30 I had the mammogram. The doctor who reviewed the films on site told me that it had come up positive and she sent me for a biopsy.

I picked another doctor that same day.

And the new doctor has been wonderful. I'm currently in remission and the prognosis looks good. :)

Okay, that is as pretty shocking misdiagnosis - weirdly, the same thing happened to my mum when she had a (mercifully benign) tumour in one of her salivary glands. Stupid doctor took ages to realise what it really was. I'm glad your new doctor is looking after you properly and that things are starting to get back on track. Keep positive and know we all love you *big, gentle hugs*
