I need help. I'm going to take cello or violin next semester, becuase I want to learn to play an instrument that I can take with me to university when I go away. (Since I simply cannot drag my piano to my next apartment that may be 8, 10, or 18 hours away ( Read more... )

Cello is hard to transport, yes, BUT it is worth it. Not only will you love it, and yourself for playing it, EVERYONE ELSE WILL LOVE YOU TOO. One more little trick to move you closer to ruling the hearts and minds of everyone!

The piano is actually considered a percussion instrument, believe it or not!

Seconding the cello as well; the sound it produces is so much more richer and vibrant. I can probably blame Brahms for my falling in love with the instrument.

I agree on the cello. Not that I have much musical aptitude but it is my favorite instrument. The sound is also quite more calming in general which could be nice ^_^
