I'm glad you liked it too. I tried to turn off my personal biases before I went, having read many others' reviews, and ended up enjoying it much more than I thought I would.
I liked this director's take on many things, but some sequencing of events was a little WTF for me. Snape taking Harry for Occlumency lessons right after the Arthur Weasley attack was one of those. At least Yates didn't include stoopid scenes like the one of Dan trying to escape the dragon on his broom in GoF.
Did you feel like they were just throwing characters out there? I liked Tonks, too, but she and several other characters had such little screentime that they seemed almost unecessary, yet they HAD to be introduced.
I am a shipper when it comes to HP.
*laughs* I wish to hell I wasn't. Things would be so much easier.
Agree with you on the very wonky sequencing. It's another case of editing out large chunks just to fit the time frame. And yeah. They were kinda throwing characters in there; I'd definitely have liked more Tonks and Luna. It was one action scene after another- like you mentioned in your post, I think. Did Kreature remind you of Golum? Also, Harry and Cho kissed like they've done it before, not the awkward first time that should've been for him.
*laughs* I can't help shipping H/Hr. Not Dr Who, or any of the other shows that I watch and read.
See, that's why I'm glad I didn't read OotP again before watching the movie. I'd be more upset at having parts which I liked left out or changed, and enjoyed it less.

Despite the lack of Lupin, yes.
Hmm...and more Tonks would have been fabulous! The hair color change...he he...
The newest cast members were all well suited, but Luna, Ivana, she stole my heart.

Helena Bonham Carter's Bellatrix was fantastic. Her scenes were short, but she nailed them.
