Oohhhhhh, glorious. It was like I held my breath through the whole thing, then was able to let it out at the end of each section. I think you captured the juxtaposition between physical closeness and mental confusion beautifully. And you distinguished between the two perspectives with subtlety. But my favorite bit:
He always was under the impression that Sabrina knew how to deal with the media. Apparently, she was just a really good faker.

Tee hee! You used the word faker! You have no idea how happy that made me. Isn't it nice when a word does just exactly what you need it to do?
