You guys have heard about the petition circulating around to ban GSA from CHHS, right? ...They can't REALLY do that, can they? I mean if they do that, they might as well ban BHC and FCA, too.

there was one last year before the first public meeting, and nothing happened. chances are, we have nothing to worry about.

I dont think they can, i mean it could cause an uproar if parents got really angry, or if yall tried to bring some sort of discimination charges against them. but i guess anything is possible, you might do some research about the laws about clubs in schools. but before you do anything, or go to the administration about it, make sure you are VERY VERY read up and knowledgeable about the laws, you wana make sure you walk in there like a "professional", you need to really know your stuff to fight this battle. we live in the south, in the bible belt. be sure of everything you say, and if you're not sure, dont say it. I hope it goes well.

no, they cannot do that. it was addressed last year. so there is no confusion, the pricipal DOES support it(it being GSA), and all the other clubs and the thing is: no GSA, no clubs PERIOD.
so, no worries all, GSA isnt going anywhere no matter how many petitions or signatures they get!

No, they cannot ban GSA. I have not heard of this petition, but whether or not the people circulating it agree with the club or homosexuality does not matter. Besides the fact that Mr. McFall has given the club his support, it cannot be banned due to the fact that if it were, the school administration would be required by law to dismantle all other after-school activities and clubs and cancel all organized sports. GSA is a civil liberty, and it's not going anywhere.
