I've had the interesting experience of losing weight. During the past 7 months I have lost 32 lbs by a meal plan called NutriSystem which is a good fit for me and works well with my lifestyle. It has been quite easy, actually. My hardest problem is buying all new pants. I like having the structure ( Read more... )

I've noticed too that the people who notice when I've lost (or presumably gained) weight are people who are concerned about their own weight.

How are you going to transition from Nutrisystem food to your own food? I've never tried it so I'm shooting in the dark here, but it has always seemed to me that that is a weakness in the system. Sooner or later you will stop eating their food and start cooking your own again.

Thirty pound is quite an achievement! I'm envious.

With NutriSystem, half the food you eat is fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and dairy or protein that you supply yourself. So I would just keep on doing that anyway. NS offers a variety of maintenance options, and I plan to use the "a la carte" one. I don't think I'll ever completely transition from their food. Part of the reason I got on the program was to stop eating fast food and takeout food all the time, because I am tired of cooking. I will do my own breakfast, and use their entrees for lunch and dinner. I'm perfectly happy with the food, it's cheaper than eating out, way easier than cooking. I don't see why I can't just keep doing it this way for life.
