I am fine, as I've said before, with people using tells to RP when they're involved in something else, be that Battleground (Good luck RPing during a hot AV match, but hey, to each their own), instance, guild affair (as in our instance, our guild is not necessarily RPers.. just some of us within the guild are, so guild affairs are not IC), etc.
I can get down with the idea of a bond between two very close people... I can get down with the idea of a few members of a guild having some form of IC distance communication. But I do not respect people who use their guild chat or whispers to call a legion of helpers every time they're in trouble, or who use it to 'know' OOC information IC. That is unacceptable, and is what they're trying here to make sound legit.
It is, in my opinion, an attempt to make passing OOC information acceptable.
