The (should be famous) Last Words of James Whale

"To all I Love,
Do not grieve for me. My nerves are all shot and for the last year I have been in agony day and nights -except when I sleep with sleeping pills-and any peace I have by day is when I am drugged by pills.
I have had a wonderful life but it is over and my nerves get worse and I am afraid they will have to take me away. So please ( Read more... )

You scare me with posts like that. At least I found out at the end it wasn't you writing the note. (That's what I get for skipping over the title--DOH!)

Hope I never have to find a real note like that.

Good thoughts and healing energies...

So they say. Quite a classy sign-off. My other favorite:

Dear World, I am leaving you because I am bored. I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool - good luck.

Gods and Monsters, an excellent film. Ian Mckellen was great, and I personally think that was Brendan's Fraser's greatest role to date. Thanks for sharing that.

I enjoyed the film, as well. I caught it on cable one night, and didn't actually know what it was going to be about (pre-DVR).

Definitely great work to them both. I had no idea who James Whale was, or that his life was so interesting. Tragic, but interesting.

I think I saw it after the first (or second?) X-men film, but I already knew Sir Ian from LotR and other works. I used to hang around his site and read his essays.

I was a fan of Fraser (for probably obvious reasons), so it seemed like a good idea, which paid off.

There's a line somewhere in the film about Clay having an architectural face, or looks or something. I have been using that word to describe Brendan ever since.

I am going to need an lj-cut if I don't shut up now, lol.

It's interesting to read this.
I am three quarters of the way through Father of Frankenstein (the book the movie was based on). I ran across Whale when I was studying horror films this summer. If you don't mind, I'd like to add you.
