Okay, here's the story on the "house tour" comic... I got in over my head with that, sorry guys! So, I'm posting the floor plan that I made, the one frame that I finished, and as much of the script as I wrote.
I'm just posting the links to the floorplan pics because they're huge:
Ground Floor Basement
Teh script so far:
ChibBeatles: Paul has an open house (and doesn't tell anybody about it first)
Scene 1
top panel:
Semi-close up view of front door & window. Paulie peeps through the curtains, expectantly. Just his eyes and a bit of his hair show. Small word bubble says, "Ooh!"
next panel:
Same scene, backed up a few feet. Front door is left hanging open. Wind "whisk" lines, few things tossed up to indicate that Paul has just zipped out.
next:
Wide shot of front of house. Paul has come out to greet the viewers.
"HI! Welcome to the open house!! Come on in and I'll show you around!"
Scene 2 (see art above)
Paul stands in middle of foyer. View includes couch, TV, bit of ficus, kitchen entryway.
"This is the foyer! Mostly we just call it the couch. Probably because of the couch. Um... this is where we watch TV, and listen to music.
I like this TV 'cause it's so big! But it's a flat screen, which is good 'cause there's not a lot of room, um... it's not a very deep room. We have Bose speakers, and it's surround... the ones that are supposed to go behind the couch are actually in the ceiling because we couldn't find room for them. Also, George likes putting things in the ceiling, I think."
Next panel:
View has rotated towards kitchen, now we can see the front door and the coat closet. No longer can see the TV. View is from the wall opposite the hall closet, few ficus leaves visible plus mail desk.
"That's the coat closet. And coat hooks. Uhh... that's the kitchen. Really close by, which is why this is a good room for watching movies... and stuff. I'll take us there next. That's a desk, for doing things with stationery, and stamps. And markers. I found that chair on Craig's List!"
next Panel:
Pull back to show hall entry again. George is now in the room, looking like he just woke up. Wearing bathrobe, has cup of coffee/tea (or an empty mug and is on his way to the kitchen)
Paul: "Hi George! That's George."
George: "...."
Paul: "Okay let's go to the kitchen!"
Scene 3
View of kitchen, POV the pantry corner, slightly up. Can see: Fridge, broom closet, coffee maker, sink, dish washer.
Paul: This is my second favorite room in the house! Or... maybe third? I don't know. I like the kitchen! And the fridge. It's massive. It's not a flat screen, though... umm. There's another closet, but this one's for brooms and... there's a dyson in there, unless it's in John's room. John likes the dyson..."
next panel:
View from farther in kitchen. Can see pantry, entry to foyer (and front door, bit of desk), closet, sink, Maccy's dishes... Fridge is open.
Paul: "Orange juice... um, a pineapple. Pickles! Dr Pepper. Leftover salad, uh... chinese take-out! Jam. That's John's jar of jam. George's pilaf.. and sandwiches... and a cake. Ooh, cake!"
next Panel:
View from fridge-end. Can see stove/oven, entry to dining room. Plates of cookies on the counter, next to some cups and coffee or tea.
"Have a cookie! I baked them myself. There's some tea and coffee, too.
The Pantry is on your right. More food in there! I think we need to go grocery shopping."
Scene 4
Dining room, view from far wall, kitchen is visible.
"This is the dining room! We don't use it much to eat in, except on holidays or when we have company. It's nice to have, though! Maccy likes to sleep on the table when it's sunny."
next Panel:
Paul stands next to the bar, looking at the bottles.
"Mostly we use this room for the bar. Got the basics... Scotch, Rum... Tequila and Vodka... Sherry and red wine. I think there's some Brandy in there."
next Panel:
Paul: "Everyone got a cookie?"
George is visible in the kitchen with coffee.
George: "Paul, who are you talking to?"
Paul: "I'm giving a tour!"
Scene 5
Hallway. Visible: entry to foyer, top of stairs, corner towards Den.
Paul: "This is the hallway! That bit to the left goes to the bathroom and the bedrooms, the right is the foyer, and ahead and to the right is the den, and that's the staircase to the basement.
Let's go to the den first!"
next panel:
End of that bit of hall, turned to face dead-end with entry into den. Small table at end of hallway. Plant is visible.
Paul:
----
... and that's all I got. It was going to end in the basement garage where John was washing his Rolls, and Paul would get chased out with the hose, and end the tour dripping on the front lawn. It was gonna be awesome! But now you can visualise the tour in your head. It was a real chore trying to come up with a floorplan that made the most sense from a continuity standpoint of the previous work, but I'm pretty pleased with the result. From now on when I draw backgrounds in the house I have something to go by :)
