Actually, there is a friend of our family who was raised Catholic and converted to the LDS church MUCH later in her life. My brother made her the godmother of his oldest child.
Lucy will have "god parents" as of next month when we finally do our wills. But, in her case, god parents are *just* about who takes care of her if we both die horrible deaths rather than the other Catholic bits.
Yeah ... we're like, "Carmen goes to Mark's parents if we die ... or my parents ... or then Mark's little sister ..." We really need to write our official wills now. La la la ... (there's a website where you can write up a good, real will for $70, and for the past 3 years I've been intending to find it)
Will kits were the daily deal on one of the deal sites I follow, so we got one for each of us at $48 total. We can fill them out online and it will supposedly be super easy.

The only reason she hasn't thus far is because we don't have a will.
She and my aunt fight over him at family gatherings. I'm like, "GUYS. WE'RE NOT DEAD YET."
