Man, that title makes it sound like it's a movie. ...Damn, it should've been a movie... Anyways...
Thursday
It started off like any day does: Got up, finished what little packing I hadn't got done the night before... Okay, maybe that last part isn't normal... But anyways, I get everything ready and get a happy ride to the airport by mom.
After passing through security and praying my pants didn't fall down while doing that (had to take my belt off...), I realized I had about two hours to kill before the plane. So I wandered about and stopped at the Starbucks at the terminal to get some coffee. I pay and turn around, only to discover two wig heads with wigs of Cloud and Sephiroth on them IN MY FACE, along with the two people holding them peering around them, commenting, "We like your shirt..." And that was how I met the wonderful Turk Coffee Cosplay group.
Once we get to San Francisco, I get texts from my roomies that their flight has been delayed like nobody's business. Major plane trouble, apparently. They were supposed to get in around the same time as me, but it ended up being five hours later. On the shuttle there was much singing by us, and meeting of my lovely Australian friend, Naomi, or Gnomy for short. So I spent the entire time with the Turkies, which included watching Sasha (Reno) do finishing styling touched to her and Rufus' wig (I don't remember Rufus' real name... -headdesk-), listening to music on Sasha's PSP, and going to dinner.
Around 6 or so, I get the message that my roomies are finally there at the hotel, so I run to the lobby to greet them. The only problem was we didn't know what the other looked like. I walked past them, stop and blink for a moment as I listen to the conversation, then grin and text one of them. After she checks her phone, I start laughing and they realize I'm behind them. So we get our room and I dump all my things there, and show Shini and Taka (roomie's nicknames) to the awesome diner that has everything you can think of and them some.
Friday
The first thing we decided that must happen is go to J Town, the little Japanese part of San Francisco and not to be confused with Chinatown. They are two separate areas. We get to the airport, only to have me discover my wallet had vanished on me. So after much stressing out and wanting to kill something, we wait for the shuttle to come around again, only to discover that was where my wallet had jumped ship at. So after getting that back, we run off to the tram that will actually get us into SF. That thing is expensive to ride... We make a few new friends while on it and hang out with them. And everyone got some awesome pictures of me chasing a huge flock of pigeons outside the station downtown. Must get those... I accidentally kicked one too... Oops...
While in J Town, I proceed to spend all my spending money there. All of it. Another oops... I got a bunch of cute things though. And we had lunch at a ramen shop, along with a bit of sparkling sake. I kept the bottle. It was beautiful.
We get back to the con, get our badges (which was really fast for having gotten back at 4-5... It took minutes... Guess I'm too used to my larger cons...), unload, and run about taking pictures. Then we go to the Bishounen Host Cafe, where the con's bishie serve you food. It was really nice. After that, a bit more running about, then to Bishie Bingo. Basically, if you get a bingo, you get to go up, pick a bishie's name from a hat, and remove one article of clothing from them, as well as get a prize. Shini's birthday just happened to be that day and she also happened to get a bingo. All of the bishie's glomped her and sang Happy Birthday. It was cute.
Saturday
The start of the day was a bit dull and boring for me. Waited in line for the Dealer's Room to open, despite the fact that I had no money. Went back to the room and was absolutely bored. Then I got a call from Shini, asking if I wanted to mess around in the gaming room, to which I happily agreed. We played a bit of DDR, then I got a call from the Turkies, saying they had all got together in the courtyard and wanted me to take some pictures. So I run out of the room and make my appearance. There were a lot of good pictures from that.
We then get in line to get tickets for the Bishie Auction, which is exactly as it's called. People bid on the bishies and the winner gets to keep them for a few hours. The highest price was $1100 and none were sold for under $200. While in line to get in to said event, we spot someone who I've dubbed the Sephi-Moogle. That was hilarious, though I'm sure our Sephiroth (Anna) was rather traumatized... After that, there was was the dance, which was nice and I like it better than the ones at Sakura-Con.
We had nothing to do afterwards, so I announced that we should all go down to the lobby, get some people together, and play Apples to Apples. And play we did. Most of us didn't stop until around 9 Sunday morning... Which leads into...
Sunday
Sunday was the day I did almost nothing. I spent most of the time with some of Gnomy's friends from England, which resulted in me developing an accent. British with a spattering of Australian. Rather amusing really. (It still hasn't gone a way yet.)
Squally, one of the two Brits I was with, was so sweet and offered to buy me something in the Dealer's Room. So I now have a figure of Diablos, as well as a couple of little fanart badges. Gnomy also bought me one of those. Squally, Zalia (the other Brit), and I went to Closing Ceremonies later. Gnomy won a couple prizes at the raffle and smacked a couple of bishies on the ass as well. So hard, in fact, she said her hand was tingling.
Then Shini, Taka, Gnomy, Zalia, and I went out to have dinner at the awesome diner, then a stop at K-Mart (which I forgot actually exists in some places) so Shini could pick up another piece of luggage, while Zalia picked up Persona 3. When we got back to the hotel, I packed up what I could, then popped into the Turkies' room to see what they were up to and stayed to see all their pictures they took.
Monday
Nothing overly exciting happened yesterday. It was get up, pack up what I couldn't get done the night before, say good bye to Gnomy and Zalia, who weren't flying out until later that afternoon, then hop onto the shuttle back to the airport. I get home, unpack some of my things, and nearly forgot about going to work.
And that's the end to the Epic Yaoi-Con Adventure!!! It was fun, but it could've been better. By better, I mean, there should've been more of my friends there. Michi knows what I mean. :P But I will be going back next year. Pictures will be up, and it should be sooner than getting up my Kumoricon pics. I don't wanna hear about it, Michi. Things will be up soon enough, so there. :P
