Why does hair NEVER do what its supposed to?

Maybe its just me and my hair, but it seems that no matter what my hair never does what I want it to do. In fact sometimes it will do the exact reverse of what I want it to do

I dunno luv, myne does the same thing. I think its just trying to tell us to take better care of it. But cant it do it at more appropriate times, unlike when I have to go to work and look presentable. I dont wanna rock up to work & have head waitress ask me what happened to my hair. Its just not fun. Or the chef poke it. My hair is nuts, I may just shave it. That'll teach it to mess with me
