I'm officially out of school until next month, and out of a job until... well, whenever something decides to play out, so I think it's pretty safe to say that an update is in order

i chose the 60d over the t3i and the 7d, they're all comparable, but honestly, unless you're shooting sports or anything, the t3i would be more than enough, and the 60d a step up from that. if you get a 5d mark ii, honestly if you have the money, you should because it's the lenses you're investing in anyway. so if you're staying within the canon system, you could get l series lenses and the cheaper body and be better off. rambles. all my last blog photos have been with only the 60d and a 50mm 1.8. http://bunnypicnic.blogspot.com
The only problem I was having with the 5d was the full frame dilemma. My current go-to lens (a 17-50 2.8) is made specifically for an aps-c sensor, and while it would still technically work on full frame, the image quality would suffer, which would defeat the point. If I wanted to replace it with something similar, the closest I can get at that price point with that aperture is a 28-70mm, which would defeat the fuller frame.
I'm eventually wanting to go wider, which was why the idea of full frame seemed so much more alluring in the beginning, but I'd probably just be better off keeping the crop and using the money I'd save to put toward a wider lensIn the long run, I'll definitely be sticking with Canon, but the price difference between the lenses I have/want (albeit optimized for crop) and L series glass is huuuge. Because I'm not really looking to make a career of photography, I don't know if I'll be able to justify the expense
