There should be balls like this in your pack. If you throw it at the Magikarp and it remains inside until the light shuts off you've caught it.

[Thoughtful] If it hasn't been weakened enough, however, it may escape.

Hollow are spirits of the dead that become bad. They can be really big and destructive. They sometimes eat weaker souls...
