The Too Fast for Love Tour [5/30/2010]

May 31, 2010 17:50

So, it was a fabulous time!

Sarah and I got there at like, 4:20 for the meet & greet (thank god for CC membership), but they didn't let us in until about 5:00. Which wasn't too bad; it was a pretty good time, chilling with other CC members.

The security dude for Cobra (I never know his name, seriously) gave us the quick no-creepiness speech, and then let us in according to our groups. It was mostly two people at a time. Sarah and I were closer to the end of the line, so we did get to spend a little more time talking, because they weren't in a rush to get everyone through by then.

Zack Hall showed up as we were talking to the band, and Gabe was like "WE HAVE A FRIEND!"

So, Sarah made me promise to never speak of the meet & greet ever again, but I will, because it's just so hilarious.

Gabe got my name right on the first try! Spelling-wise. I told him that he's doing better than my band director, who spelled my name wrong consistently for 4 years straight. And he explained that he had two Sharons in his high school class, lol. Alex asked what instruments I played and I got a high-five when I said bass. And apparently, he used to play trumpet!

Victoria asked me about my shirt, so I got to talk about Empires to her and Gabe, lol.

And this whole time, I'm carrying on conversation by myself, because Sarah got starstruck. She was so embarrassed, it was hilarious. But Gabe gave her a really good high-five, apparently. But by the time I got to Nate, it had gotten awkward enough that we were just like ...can we get a picture now?

Speaking of pictures.

They let us in before everyone else too, so Sarah and I got to the barricade. Not too shabby, huh?

First up was I Fight Dragons, and they used VIDEO GAME CONTROLLERS. SERIOUSLY, SO AWESOME. I knew their music, but they were really awesome.

Travie McCoy was next, and he was all right. Like, I'm a very casual fan of Gym Class Heroes (except for Matt McGinley, love that motherfucker), so I was just kind of chilling during the set. He was good though, but every song sounded the same. And I'm not a big fan of "Billionaire," so idk.

Here, have a picture.

Oh, and this was the interesting part. I saw Nate Wood! And I was not a stalker and did not take pictures of him, what are you talking about?

3OH!3 was after them, and OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. BEST DANCE PARTY EVER, I SWEAR.

Of course, I had to elbow a guy in the ribs because he was all grinding up on me, but still!

This is as much of the set list as I can remember:

Starstrukk
Punkbitch
My First Kiss
House Party
Richman
I'm Not Your Boyfriend, Baby
New song (about summer)
I Can't Do It Alone
Colorado Sunshine
Chokechain
Don't Dance
Don't Trust Me

The videos will explain so much more, but seriously, Sean Foreman. I find both Nat and Sean really attractive, but I love Sean just a little more.

Cobra was the finale, of course, before that... Sarah texted a message up to the screen...

Cobra was as amazing as always, seriously.

Setlist (as much as I can remember). They didn't play anything off of When The City Sleeps except Snakes on a Plane. ):

The City Is At War
Pete Wentz
Kiss My Sass
My Moves are Hot
Smile for the Paparazzi
Snakes on a Plane
Wet Hot American Summer
Hot Mess
Living in the Sky with Diamonds
Guilty Pleasure
Good Girls Go Bad

Topics of the night included: Ryland's sensitive nipples and his hairy chest. It was a very good time, so say the least. Gabe was a little hoarse, but I think it's just an after-effect of his vocal surgery. But he was still good, just as energetic as ever.

Hey, Nate Wood.

I got Alex's pick!

And... my signed Hot Mess booklet. The CD case actually already has Ryland's signature on it from last August, lol.
