So, Warped Tour 2010!
Sarah and I got there pretty early. Like, 9:30 early. But it was worth it, because we got sweet parking and it only took us half an hour to get inside!
The Cab played at 11:30 and we got there right on time. Missed maybe… half of Risky Business? Let me just say now that the new song(s) sound AMAZING. One's called "Locked Up" or something along those lines.
There will be more about the Cab and Alex Marshall and Joey Thunder later, but it's always great to see the Cab, because they ALWAYS put on a great show. Love them.
They played Risky Business, Take My Hand, Locked Up, That 70s Song, I'll Run, and Bounce. :]
After that, on the same stage, was Anarbor. I was so excited, you don't even know, lol. I got one row from the barricade, which is pretty damn close for a Warped crowd. It was hot and sweaty and awesome, duh. People went fucking wild for the last song, it was so great. This one girl passed out before the set, though. It was kinda scary, I've never actually seen anyone legitimately pass out. She like, actually fell at my feet and I was about to ask if she was okay, but then she was like, not responsive or blinking and everyone around was like HOLY SHITTTT.
Set list included: Contagious, The Brightest Green, Passion for Publication, Drugstore Diet, You and I, Mr. Big Shot, and Let the Games Begin. Lots of my favorites, I was so happy. Fuckin' love Anarbor.
The next set we wanted to see was Hey Monday at like, 5:20, so Sarah and I started wandering around the merch booths. Let me just say that THERE IS SO MUCH STUFF, IT'S RIDICULOUS. I bought a Cab wristband, one from Keep-A-Breast (it's a good cause, plus I kept thinking of that one video with Butcher and Tom from Warped 2006…), and a tank top that says STAY POSITIVE. So great. Sarah also bought me the Love More necklace from Jac Vanek's stand because she owed me $10 for parking and the necklace was $10. :) Wearing it right now.
The Cab were doing a signing at 1:45, and Sarah and I found the line at about 1:20. So we joined up, and seriously, NOTHING MORE COULD MAKE ME LOVE THE CAB MORE. It was a really quick signing, no pictures and that sort of thing, but the guys were trying so hard to like, actually connect with fans, it was sweet. :]
Singer has the prettiest eyes, by the way. And Johnson with short hair… omg. BUT MARSHALL. If you foliow me on Twitter, you might already know this, but our conversation went a lot like this:
Marshall: Hey, how are you?
Me: I'm doing fine! It's pretty hot out there, though.
Marshall: Yeah, I know, it's brutal.
Me: Mhm. Thank you! *takes magazine and goes to wait for Sarah like, three feet from the table*
Marshall: *talks with Sarah* *signs her book* *takes out can of water (the Monster Tour Water you can't buy; shit's good)* *places it on the table and looks at me*
Me: *confused expression*
Marshall: *gestures at the can*
Me: OH! Thank you!
Marshall: *grin*
So. Yeah. Marshall gave me water for essentially no reason, lmfao. <3______<3
I lost the can, though! I WAS SO SAD, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. But seriously, me and Sarah are still so grateful for that can, because without it, we'd be even more dead. And like, there is a fuckton of water in that can. It's the equivalent of a bottle, lol.
Along the way, we ran into Joey, who is the touring bassist for the Cab. So. Hot. Holy. Fucking. Shit. He is hot like Mexico (sorry, running joke with Sarah). I got a picture, and he signed my magazine and Sarah's. He seemed really sad about the fact that he's still not exactly with the Cab permanently, poor boy. We kept seeing him throughout the night as well, it was kinda funny.
Sarah took some free drum lessons, that was how much time we had to kill.
Hey Monday was very cute. They've gotten much better; Cassadee's voice isn't all over the place anymore.
They played a cover of In My Head! Ugh, as if they could get any cuter, seriously.
The crowd had some hecklers, which made me really sad. ):
Set list: How You Love Me, Wish You Were Here, I Don't Wanna Dance, Run Don't Walk, In My Head, and Homecoming.
After Hey Monday, Sarah and I chilled with the 98.7 people for a little while before we went back to the AP stage to see the Rocket Summer.
Bryce Avary is all sorts of magic. Just saying. HE PLAYED EVERY PART OF THE BEGINNING OF BREAK IT OUT AND THEN LOOPED IT. LOVE HIM.
He played a couple songs from Of Men and Angels, and a few from Do You Feel, and BRAT PACK! HE PLAYED BRAT PACK! Sarah got to witness me losing my shit for that song.
Set list: Hills and Valleys, Do You Feel, Break It Out, Brat Pack, So Much Love, Walls, So In This Hour.
There was this couple in front of me and Sarah and they were so cute. :'D During So In This Hour, Bryce had us all fist-pumping and they were doing that with their hands linked and omg. :'D
After TRS, we waited a little longer and then went to go see the All-American Rejects WHO WERE THE GREATEST THING ON THIS FUCKING PLANET. EVEN IF THEY STARTED PLAYING 20 MINUTES LATE.
Tyson was so drunk, by the way. So, so, so so drunk. Slurring his lyrics and talking to the crowd and just, so great.
They played a lot of old songs, and nothing off of When The World Comes Down, lol. It was amazing and beautiful and seriously, even a week later, I cannot get over that performance.
So that was it. That was my Warped Experience Part One 2010. Part Two coming in August! Videos to come soon.
