My Computer Is Being a Dick Again. Surprise Surprise.

Yet another thing that I forgot to tell you all!

I have a PC now, have had it for a while, in fact. My Dad cobbled it together out of parts we had sitting around. It's good for writing - I have Scrivener on it - and it's good for games like Spore, Minecraft and stuff.

However, long time readers will know that I have never had luck with computers... )

Computers like to malfunction for you, don't they? That is not very nice of them at all.

I hope Amethyst isn't sick. How did you learn to tell them apart?

How do you like Scrivener? I've considered buying it.

They really do, I just can't seem to keep one functional for very long D: I dunno whether it's usually down to faulty components (we usually cobble together PCs from what we have lying in the house - so I usually get my dad's hand-me-downs when he upgrades), but this time is DEFINITELY because Dad goofed up. Twice ( ... )

Well, that's good that it looks like it's healing. Hopefully the next fix of your computer will last forever! :D

Scrivener looks scary to learn, LOL. I bought a chromebook to take with me when I write on the go because it was cheaper, but apparently I can install Linux and then scrivener on it. I don't know. I guess I could just try it on my desktop and see if it works...

When I first bought Scrivener I decided to try the tutorial so I could learn how to use it and - holy hell, there are so many features. It's kinda intimidating until you realise you probably won't need most of them right away.

I just learned the basics (e.g. creating chapters and scenes, the corkboard view, assigning keywords etc) and decided to learn the rest as I go. The tutorial's always there when I need it, as I inevitably will :'D

If you have a NaNo discount code, then even better!
