Character Information:
Full Name: Kuchiki Byakuya
Series Taken From: 110 years before series canon.
Power Retained: Kidou, it is one of the four basic combat techniques that a Shinigami can use. More information on it can be found
here, but given that Byakuya, at the point in time that I'm taking him, is only a child, he will not be able to perform the higher level spells.
Background:
Kuchiki Byakuya is the only heir to the Kuchiki family, one of the four noble families residing in Soul Society (or what is known as the Bleach version of afterlife). While he grew up to be quite an anal retentive prick, it is revealed in Episode 208 that he was quite a hotheaded young man in his youth, not unlike Kurosaki Ichigo and Abarai Renji. However, being an aristocrat, Byakuya can often appear rather aloof and arrogant, especially to those whom he does not know and whom he has judged to be not worthy of his time. Most of the time, Byakuya tries to live up to the image that he ought to uphold as the Kuchiki heir (but cut him some slack, there's only so much a hotheaded teenager can do to rein in his temper).
The man that young Byakuya respected the most is his Grandfather who is both the head of the Kuchiki family and the captain of the 6th Division in the Gotei 13. His grandfather is a hero to him, and as such, the young man ends up spending countless of hours training himself, so that he will be worthy to inherit the position from the older Kuchiki. It may have worked, if Shihouin Yoruichi (an heir from another noble family, a playmate and then the captain of the Special Ops/2nd Division) isn't so good at distracting him by stealing his hair tie and then taking off with it. Thankfully, those little tag games with the Goddess of Flash did have the effect of improving Byakuya's average speed and prowess at
Shunpo.
It is on one of these games that Byakuya found his way to the House on the Hill, with no Yoruichi in sight and no way to return home. Dun, dun, dun!
Sample Third-Person Post:
Damn that Were-cat! The young Kuchiki heir cursed in his mind, the words being too improper for someone of his upbringing to give voice to. The ends of his hakama were soiled with mud and stray bits of grass. His grandfather was going to be so upset with him, he thought with dismay, making plans to sneak back into the mansion and change his clothes before he could be caught. Or perhaps he should just own up to dirtying his clothes like a common little boy. Surely deceit and cowardice, as illustrated in the act of hiding evidence of his misdeeds, was dishonorable and far more unbecoming than tardiness.
However, he could handle that dilemma later. First, he would have to find the Shihouin heir and retrieve his hair tie. Except--
"Were-cat!!" Byakuya yelled when he realized he was in an area that he did not recognize. Was this Rukongai? He closed his eyes and concentrated. No, the very air was different. He wasn't even in Soul Society anymore.
"W, where am I...?"
