Nobody says you have to have a family, right?

And think of it this way- Most people get out of the army and get 3500 shekel/month or even stay unemplyed, some have to work 2 jobs or more just to live, but you'll get much much more than that.
Which means, you can work a year, and then not work two years and you'll still have the same amount of money regular people have or more. Which means if you want it enough, you can spend 2/3 of your life after the army doing WHATEVER YOU WANT. And having the money to do it too!

It's not like you left the army 6 months after starting, so who's gonna take advantage of you exactly. -_- You're a programmer, you'll be able to be snobby and request a whole lot of money from people who interview you, because you'll have experience and skills. And don't say you won't, think of how it is compared to someone who left the army and has to go beg to work at McDonalds, or compared to someone who was in the army a few months and then quit cause she couldn't take the pressure. :D You'll be ok

You're right. If I complete only 3 years of the army and then work the other 2 years at a company I'll have enough money to quit and go for a long trip to Japan. I can sigh a contract that lasts 2 years at a company.
