Firstly, SO JEALOUS. Secondly, reading your post, this is exactly the vibe I got from the trailers; predictable (but good!) story, with pretty pretty animation. I'm still looking forward to seeing it in theatres.

[That spoiler]
I guessed this would be the end as well, but I'm thankful. I'm right there with you in that she doesn't have to fall back on any love interest (I was fearful that there may be a best friend she's had since childhood that she never realized she had feelings for cliche lurking around).

Haha I was soooo excited when my host invited me, but kinda sad because it's probably the last time I'll get to visit there for awhile since I'm heading back to LA soon (hopefully not permanently =/).

Yea I think it's DEFINITELY worth seeing in theaters for the visual stuff alone. I love love love the art direction in this movie, and I think the animation is the best that I've seen in an animated movie so far. Story-wise my expectations were kinda low coming off of Cars 2 so I don't think I was that disappointed, plus I already knew they had a lot of problems with the story (hence Brenda Chapman getting bumped).

[spoiler talk] I got the artbook a couple weeks ago and was looking through the storyboards, and it seeeeems like originally they were going to at least indicate the *start* of a romantic interest with Merida and one of the suitors at the very end. I'm not sure if I'm just misinterpreting it, but if that's the case I'm relieved that they decided to nix the idea.
