I've always had trouble wrapping my brain around the contradictory mentality of folks who feel that there needs to be MORE legislation and stricter enforcement of laws in order for people to have greater freedom. You nailed the flaw of the argument right on the head - If someone forces a woman do to something, they are taking away their liberty to dictate their own identity. Duh duh duh!
The most aggravating part is how futile it is to point this out to such folks. It doesn't matter how you word it, whether you use illustrations, or even give them a puppet show... They either are unable to compute such logic, or are unwilling to do so due to a hidden agenda or outright complacency. Humbug. =P

As for the last name thing. You should point out to the feminazis that your last name ISN'T you. It's your father. So by keeping your name you are just saying you still belong to your parents. By choosing to change your name, you creat your own identity, and become your own person. Tell them to put THAT in their pipe and smoke it. ^_^
