Cosplay Update
Well, I was insipired by glayish and her sister to post progress shots of my cosplay for Anime North 2010.
brightling I found some trim I really like. So these shots are for you too <3
I also sent you an email about getting together to sew and go shopping for beads
This year, I'm partnering up with brightling and we're cosplaying Yukito and Sakura from Tsubasa. We chose two of the artbook pictures that we thought went well together.
First up is one of my finished sleeves. White fabric was chosen with s a subtle print because most of the cloak is going to be creamy-white. The sleeves along with the hood will be lined. The main body of the cloak will not to reduce weight and to improve how it hangs. A shiny rose-burnt orange fabric was chosen for the lining, it matches in texture and pattern a green-yellow fabric chosen by brightling, my partner in crime.
The sleeve trim is deep red velvet ribbon running parallel to gold curtain trim, chosen for its shade and 3D texture.
Below is a preview of my staff and some of the moons/bead decore.
There was one hitch in my sewing these past 2 weeks... My sewing machine started clogging up and ruining the stitches. I tried several different bobbins and changing the tension, but nothing fixed it. I really didn't want to have to go out and buy a new machine... So my mom, being a dear, brought out my grandmother's sewing machine. It's an oldie, but works wonderfully ^_^
