Why not show 'The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe'?

Everyone's seen that one, Bizket, or functionally close enough to it.

And everyone hadn't seen Princess Bride?

That was actually the movie that inspired the whole event. We knew a guy who hadn't seen it, and turned our church into a movie theater for the evening.

Pastor liked how it went so much that he decided to make it a yearly event.

I'd suggest Hudson Hawk but it's been a while since I've seen it and I'm not entirely sure it meets the criteria. Still, it's a movie I loved as a kid and still love as a semi-grown man, and definitely has appeal to a broad age range.

Plus, you get to see Bruce Willis sing.

R rated. Disqualified but added to my Netflix queue anyway!

"Battleship Potemkin". No swearing, relatively little violence, and an uplifting message at the end.

Given that it's a silent movie, and older than pretty much anyone in our church, I'm not sure how serious I should take you.

I find the Sandlot to be kinda dull. I guess it's OK for kids. My suggestion would be Up, but you hate Disney and animation for some reason (why do you hate America). Princess Bride is always a great film, but it's really the only one on that list that I have both seen and liked. This is making me realize how few 'non-scary, uplifting' movies I like that are not cartoons. Not many apparently.

Those are the movies we've done, provided to give some insight as to what might qualify.

For the record, I loved Up. The soft prohibition on Disney and animated stuff was totally not my idea, but that of the Final Arbiter (read: Mom).

Oh. I totally misunderstood the point of the list. I misread; my bad.

It's cool. Final Arbiter went to bed, though, so I'll let you know.
