Yeah it was gross. At least it's a very brief phenomenon. Now we're on to the larger problem of- there's termites in the wood somewhere. At least we rent and the cost of termite control is not on us. Believe me, after all the unexpected crap this place has thrown at us, we'd LOVE to move. But we're going to stick out our lease for a lot of reasons... the location is perfect, rent isn't bad, and we can't really afford to move atm. Now, if we had kids or something I wouldn't even have moved in. It's kind of a fix-er-up that we thought we'd be doing a lot less fixing on. We get very cheap rent for this area, and in turn we do small repairs. We just didn't think 'small repairs' meant 'this place ACTUALLY needs a total renovation'. Live and learn! PS, that icon is the best. The BEST.
Oh, I totally understand. We lived in the most horrid apartment you can imagine for about a year and a half ... it was just gross, but there was nothing we could do about it, because we couldn't afford to move or anything like that at the time. We had mice and all manner of bugs and it was just disgusting. :( I feel your pain.
LOL Thank you! I figured the "Unimpressed Balthier" icon was appropriate for termite talk. ;) I don't think he'd like them either.
Oooh an anonymous poster? Who could it beeeeeeeeee? Well, the sarm dies quickly- with termites, all they do is swarm for a little while and either: a. Mate and start new colonies b. Die When it happens inside a house it tends to be option b. We already have them cleaned up, but it was GROSS and WEIRD while it was happening, and now we know there's a termite problem in the house. Little bugs nomming on the wood. At least it's our landlord's financial problem and not ours. He has an exterminator coming to look at it today.
