The thing is, you know me. I go through phases. I'm currently on a Canadian/folk/hippie kick, so it's only really Arrogant Worms and Great Big Sea that I go all Squee over (well, and Jonathan coulton, but he's just made of awesome). So...no, I didn't know they had a new album. I didn't even know they still existed. Kinda cool, but...::shrugs::
It was something I remembered hearing recently. I tried to double check later but no tour dates were announced. I might have been mistaken although. I'm sure it was a pop boy band but there is nothing else scheduled at the Times Union Center so idk.
I had absolutely no idea that they had a new album, but I did know that Kevin had left (he being my favorite...still...at 22....what's that about a fangirl?). It's strange, I almost prefer not to listen, knowing he's gone. Just isn't the same sort of thing for me.
I do wonder about them occasionally, and when I see the band name pop up, I'll read the article or whatever, but I don't actively seek them out.
I did, however, know about Kevin...I was looking him up because Nester Carbonell reminded me uncannily of him on an episode of Lost. I can't say I was surprised to find that Kevin left, but it does seem kind of odd in the context of BSB as a whole.
I've given all their other albums a chance, so I'm up for listening to the new one. :) Definitely going to miss Kevin's voice, though.
Cool. I'm free on Tuesdays, and weekday evenings, if you wanna hang and listen. I can try and get a Beth in on it, too. You're in Schnectady during the week still, right? I'll need the address again to get directions if that's the case XP
( ... )
I heard about the new album about a week before it was released. In the newspaper article that it was in, I noticed that there were only four members shown instead of 5, but that's the extent to how up to date I am. I have yet to listen to any of songs =(
On a similar note though, I found out about the Spice Girls reunion through facebook. I was looking at my "favorite bands" and saw that they were "on tour" in my area and decided to look into it. I now can say that I have tickets to see the Spice Girls in my local area in February! Crazy! But I've never been to this kind of an event and so I figured that I would treat myself to one "teeny bopper" thing!
I would go with you to a Backstreet Boys concert! Unfortunately you live far away so timing is essential to this equation =( Particularly since school hates me right now!
