Here Wiki comes to save the day! Personality: When it comes right down to it, Syo is actually a cheerful and friendly sort of person, even despite the fact that he has something of a hot temper. When things are good, he'll jump and cheer and generally be excited with the best of them. This is shown clearly in how he reacts with the rest of the group when Ren turns in his lyrics and prevents himself from being expelled from the school. They all find Ren in the room from which he's broadcasting his song and Syo joins the others in dancing to the tune happily.
But like I mentioned above, Syo really has a temper as hot and quick as flashover. Now of course his temper isn't triggered over just everything, but there is really any number of things that can set him off. If someone isn't, or doesn't seem to be taking something seriously, his temper can flare up for a limited or lengthened amount of time depending on the strength of the feelings involved in the particular subject. Other things that set him off are comments about his height or being called cute, both of which have set him off at least once.
He also has some less in-your-face qualities to him. One of such qualities is his determination. He admits in an episode, in a way, that he isn't a genius like Natsuki. But that he got to where he is, one of the students in the highest class in school, through hard work. He works hard toward his goals, and isn't the type to let something stop him from reaching that goal. He even goes as far as trying to, and with the "help" of friends and the Headmaster overcoming his extreme fear of heights.
And on that topic we come to the next important point of his personality. Syo is a very passionate person. His whole reason for overcoming his fear of heights in the first place was to audition for a role alongside the idol he most admires, Hyuga Ryuya. Even telling Nanami about Hyuga's roles, and how they cheered him up back when he was a weak child is done through passionate song and explanation. ...do not question this series, songs are everything.
Cheerful, energetic
Strengths/Weaknesses:
☆ As an artist, he's good. Not only is he an S Class idol in training at Saotome Academy, he was in violin competitions with Natsuki when he was younger.
☆ He is a very, very hard worker. If he wants something to happen, it will happen.
☆ He's got energy to spare. Of course, that's required for someone who'll be singing and dancing on stage all the time for a living.
☆ He's a confident sort. Even in discouraging situations he still believes he can overcome it. Though confidence was something he had to work up to, it's there to stay now.
ᴓ As a child he was actually quite weak. He's mostly overcome that by now but there may still be times where it catches up to him.
ᴓ Though he worked to overcome it, there's still a lingering fear of heights. Not as severe as before.
ᴓ He is ridiculously tsundere. As such he can have a hard time expressing his feelings.
ᴓ His temper is really easy to provoke, and it's not hard to get him to raise his voice.
ᴓ If something really bothers him, he has a hard time just letting it go, even after it's been talked over.

Samples
First Person Sample: [The video flickers to life, granting a view immediately of a very, very annoyed face.]
I get that "Mom" was just trying to be nice when she put some clothes in the bag she gave me. But I absolutely will not wear this!!
[The camera whips around then and focuses after a moment on the clothes laid out on the ground.
A dress.]
This isn't like Hyuga-sensei's movie! I will not wear a dress! Definitely not! I'm gonna sell this the first chance I get.
[The camera whips back around, and that face is still angry.]
Jeez what was she thinking. It had better not have been for laughs.
[And he's calming down a bit now, still looks annoyed--then. Something hits him and he blinks down at the camera.]
. . .
So the next town isn't that far down Route 29, right? I just left yesterday.
Third Person Sample: Syo really couldn't begin to be sure what to call today. He had woke up in a strange bed. He wasn't in Saotome Academy, he wasn't sharing a room with Natsuki, he didn't even think he was anywhere he'd ever seen before.
But he was dressed. That was a plus, so he'd picked up his hat from the bedside table and gone downstairs. If he'd thought today was weird up to that point, well. Having a strange woman call herself his mom, then hurry him out the door with a messenger bag and a lunch well.
What just happened?!
He found out. Sort of. The phone in his pocket had helped him find out--sort of. Pokémon? Okay. They lived in these red and white balls. And he had one.
A pink cat-like thing with more energy than he had. A Skitty?
Talking, learning where he was, freaking out a little more--then he had been on his way.
Yeah. Okay. Today was a strange day. He sighed, the way he held himself mindful of the Skitty--his Skitty that had decided to sit on his head while he made his way out of town.
"Ren and Otoya are in the next city, maybe this place will start to make sense on the way." he gave up thinking this was some kind of dream when he'd seen the familiar faces. His tone was a little defeated, but he was talking to himself so it wasn't as if it mattered right?
Wrong. An almost sad "nyaa" of sorts from above his head almost stalled him mid-step. Oh. Right. Skitty. --wait. Did he make her sad, talking with that kind of tone? Carefully, he lifted her from where she perched on his head in place of his hat, to look at her while she curled up in his arms.
She even looked sad! How...how did you cheer up a...Pokémon?!
"Aah--so--hey! How about... I sing you something?" this felt awkward. Talking to something he had never seen before today.
But her eyes lit up, her nya sounded happier this time! He found himself smiling a little. Maybe he could get used to this kind of interaction...?
He adjusted his hold on her carefully and thought. Ah! He had a simple, upbeat song from a while back. That would work! Pace picked up to keep time with his steps, he began to sing as he walked on.
Then something caught his ears. It wasn't the tacky background music that seemed to stalk him wherever he went--he managed to ignore that when he started singing his own song--no it was different. A note or two later and he realized it. She was...singing along with him. Or singing as best as nyaas could.
That did it. Startled into laughter, he slowed to a stop to lift her a bit higher.
"Hey, so you can sing too huh?" carefully, he lifted her up onto his shoulder, where she perched happily with what sounded like an affirmative nyaa!
He couldn't help the grin. "Let's go from where we left off then, okay?" another nyaa and a couple steps into his walk, he picked up the melody without hesitation, Skitty singing along.
