Customer-ese

Nov 10, 2009 11:32

Sometimes, when customers speak, all I hear is "bitch bitch WHINE WHINE mooooaaaan." I fiddle with my internal translating device, shake it a little, tell it to work... and then realize it's working just fine. "Bitch bitch whine" is all I'm hearing because that's all they're doing.

Oh, pardon me... Your game doesn't come out until midnight and you're upset because I have to close the store for an hour to set up and you don't want to have to wait until midnight out in the cold? What the hell do you want me to do? Make it be July? Oh, you're going to go to another store where the party's already started because I'm "making you" wait out in the cold? Listen, you pimply piece of nerd-shit: If it didn't occur to you that it's NOVEMBER and you might have to wait outside for a while to get your game, then you shouldn't have come to the damned midnight release! Is it my fault that once people paid, they started lining up outside to ensure their spot in the line? No. I was gonna let people stay inside for a while longer and THEN kick you out into a line, but someone decided to be proactive and start the line an hour ahead of time. SUCK IT UP. Oh, you're gonna cancel your preorder because you don't like how this one's going? Tell you what... How about I go buy a strap-on, just so you can suck it? That is how much I care. I will buy a fucking strap-on just so you can fucking suck it, because I don't give a shit if you've got far too much time on your fucking hands and want to get a video game the precise fucking moment that it goes on sale! DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES! If you didn't want to be cold and have to wait a few hours, then why not just pre-order and show up the day after, when the madness has died down a bit?!

In other news...
What the hell am I saying? I have no other news. I was at work until 2am (thank God it wasn't later. I was freaking out for a while there that I would be in until 3am). And really, I just had one person complain about it being cold. Most everyone else was relatively calm and patient. We had a couple of police squad cars and four officers outside in case of any incidents, so I even had a police escort when I went to the bank. That was pleasant. Oh, and one phone call from another manager about customers that went to his store and complained that I was "making them wait out in the cold." Well, maybe they should've listened when I made the announcements about the store closing for an hour to set up. Of course, if they had, I wouldn't have to jot their concerns down in the "idiot customer complaints" side of my brain.

*sigh* I don't really want to go to work. At least tomorrow I get to go to some kind of leadership seminar, so I won't have to be in the store anymore, and I have either Friday or Saturday off, so that'll be nice. Things are actually get in done in the store now, have enough hours to give to people... I think things are getting better. I keep hoping, anyway, but.. We'll see. Next week: Black Friday. *shudder* I'm hoping that that it can't get worse than the midnight release. And hopefully, once Black Friday hits, the store will normalize again.

Hmm... Considering buying a new TV for my room. Probably not going to happen, but considering it.
