LMAO at your Thomas Aquinas thingy there, oh my LORD. I bet he was NO FUN AT ALL at parties. Or at any other time.
Bradley and Colin's chemistry is off the charts, trufax. Even Bradley and Katie's chemistry is pretty good. Bradley and Gwen...not so much, there. Not onscreen, anyway. They seem fine in video diaries and on commentaries. I find it weird when people on the anon meme think they're dating because I totally don't see it. I suppose at a stretch I could see Bradley liking Angel but I really can't see Angel liking Bradley romantically.
Arthur looked totally awkward during that Arthur/Gwen hug. And I would say something about Arthur probably being awkward with emotion in general, but we've een him comfort Morgana with a hug and Merlin er, in his own way lol and it was nowhere NEAR as awkward.
I just realised I said Gwen instead of Angel. SORRY ANGEL.
Although really I CAN see Arthur having that reaction. EMOTIONS? CIRLS CRYING? OH NO. OKAY, KEEP IT TOGETHER, DON'T PANIC. DON'T PANIC. OKAY. IT'LL BE FINE. Probably in that whole scene he was trying to think of something to say other than "There, there."
So while I think he could have that reaction, it really doesn't convince me that they're in ~SUPER TRUE LOVE FOREVER~
This is probably Bradley's worst fear as well. He's a self-confessed moron when it comes to women. HAVING TO HUG A FAKE-CRYING ONE WHILE HIS BOYFRIEND WATCHED MUST HAVE BEEN SO WEIRD.
AHAHAHAHA, I love that screencap of Arthur and Gwen. His fingers are super tight on the back of her head where he's trying to force her head back down to his chest, all "Come...on...just fucking put your head...I don't know how to do this otherwise" and she's trying to reach up to his face and he's like ack, no, that's my mouth.
The thing is, that isn't even AS AWKWARD AS IT GOT. I went through that scene cap by cap and I was like "...I cannot be more uncomfortable than I am right now."
Arthur allows himself to be vulnerable in front of Merlin, to discuss his feelings and pain, and Merlin responds in the way Arthur wants - he listens
That was the bit that really got to me. I actually appreciated the A/G hug because I liked how it contrasted with the A/M scene that followed. In the former Arthur is clearly being strong for Gwen, comforting her, but in the latter (plus the scene in the rain) he obviously feels comfortable enough to be vulnerable and let go with Merlin. Surprisingly, I thought TPTB nailed the two dynamics perfectly in this ep and showed instead of told for once, inadvertently making a case for the primacy of A/M in the process.

I have shouted LOOK AT YOUR LIFE, LOOK AT YOUR CHOICES at my screen when Morgana is on it more times than I am comfortable admitting.
