I've only felt the one they had in Seattle about 2 and a half years ago, and only because I was at work at the time, or no doubt I'd have slept through it.
My bet is that the big one they're expecting happens while I'm there, and cracks one of the runways or something so I can't get back.
Sounds like I'll have an... interesting... time in Japan. But everything is sort of coming together, and my usual response is to stay where I am, so it's time for me to get off my ass and go somewhere.
as far as im concerned, being able to sleep thrugh an earth quake is more likely preferable, cause were it able to wake you up, it would also be breaking stuff... like say, the house

We actually had a typhoon too, but because I am in the mountains it only appeared to be continuous drizzle.
